Default Front Exit or Rear Exit cable

I'm shopping for a shifter for a TH400 rmvb/transbrake on my 94 Z28. I'm looking at the Hurst Quarter Stick, but which do I get, the front exit or rear exit for the cable? Your suggestions is greatly appreciated.

For those that have installed the Hurst Quarter Stick or similar shifter on their 93-02 Fbody, which one did you go with, or was easiest to route the cable? The TH400 being built by Proformance Racing Transmission will be here soon and would like to start installing a shifter. Thanks again for any suggestions.

Stock goes out the rear and loops around the backside of the trans. Seems that would naturally fit the best?

I have a B&M Pro Stick that is front exit and I have no issues.

My car was originally an M6, so I put a plate over the hole where the shifter came up through the tunnel and a hole was drilled for the cable to go through.

If you go rear exit you may need a shorter cable to prevent binding perhaps.

Hope this helps.

^^Thanks man. You have a Th400 and Hurst shifter as well, so I will go with the front exit as you mentioned. Thanks. Do you have the Hurst Quarter Stick? Pistol grip with the button or original quarter stick with the ball handle? Rmvb? T-brake?

You will want a front exit cable. You'll have to drill a new hole but it's not an issue. The cable will
need to be 5'. Wrap it around the crossmember and use the new bracket supplied with it. You'll have no issues. If you need a plate to mount it with, pm me.

I went with a front exit and 5ft cable as well. It loops around the trans as you can see in the second picture. The first pic is of the shifter mounting (I am using an LS style auto console with it routed out a little for the shifter motion.

Sorry just saw this. Yeah I got a pistol grip one and running my T Brake off the button. I also got one of JustAFools plates and mounted it quick. Trans is Jakes Stage 3, RMVB, Transbrake, etc. mounted in stock a4 console

Not the best pic.

Thats exactly what I want, just like that. I like also to be able to use my stock center console as well.
I just placed the order for one of his mounting plates. Thanks for the pics.
