There are many builds/ engines that start making a little power and would end up having way too much stall-speed with a torque converter like that.

Not yet, Going out of town Thursday and didnt want to leave the car on jack stands blocking my driveway. I also injured myself again at work on Friday (was going to start then) so I am waiting a week or 2 till I start to feel a little better so I can hurt myself again while doing this lol. Ordered a true dual exhaust too that I want to get put on at the same time. Still need the trans cooler too lol.
Hopefully within a month the car will be good. Being hurt sucks, just jacking the car up is a feat. Hopefully i can get a run in before winter too.

Well, tonight was more successful. Just down to bell housing bolts and the 2 trans lines and she's out. I'll be very happy to use the supplied bolts over the gm Allen head bolts. Apparently last time I half assed it because those things broke loose with one hand, I won't lie....sorta glad about that lol.

Thing will feel like you added well over 100 whp your first wot pull.
Driveway work on jack stands definitely sucks. I still work off jack stands all the time but in a garage and it's definitely a massive pain....... not to mention when you roll under the car then realize you forgot the wrench you originally rolled out for

Lol yea. Since I'm already hurt I'm really thinking things through before I get under it. I am using a 1" piece of foam insulation to lay on. One side is slick which helps, it's light weight so easy to move, and provides cushion for my shoulder blades.
Front of the car is up 4" higher than the picture. May need to go higher still.
100hp sounds like what im looking for lol. Can't wait to get the true duals on too and hear them.

Ok, so the FTI is in, but not bolted up to the flywheel.
I felt 3 clicks, and currently the converter to flywheel spacing is about 1/4" or 3/8ths, could be less but I'd say 1/4. So my plan was to shim it 1/8th so it doesn't pull out of the trans. But hey I've already learned I've done stuff wrong in the past lol. Good idea?
Fti supplied 3 bolts but they are quite short. They may work. Oh, and the spacer went in lol.
2nd question...i pulled the trans pan and did a filter, but I can't get the filter collar piece out of the trans to replace. What's the trick? I don't want to mar anything up going at it with a pick. Seems like it needs to be hit at the outside edge to crush it inward?
