4l60e binding reverse
Yes on tefs and make it a quick straight upwards thrust.
OK so loose half bolts it drops in like butter, tightened it drops to the lip where the seal would be (test fit tightened), still better before but what's your amount of slack you give it? Keep trying till it's tightened and drops in without seal or tap it in?
Lubed it up and boom its in. I know I've said it a lot but seriously you guys are so amazing and you helped make a strangers freaking day. Bell house and torque converter next. Might start trying to install tonight depending on how long it takes.
Like I said that alignment method is perfect every time lol

I do fairly close by. I was scared to try anything but the specific ones because I never want to do this again lol. Thought about going back to the same transmission shop I went to before for the teflon and maybe slip the guy a 20 out of appreciation. Dude was gonna give me all the teflons for free last time.
I'm gonna sound like an amateur and this is gonna be the proof. I have to pull the valve body again. Started making progress, hell was gonna have it assembled tonight. Started hooking up my harness and realize I couldn't because with the vb on things were blocking, pull stuff, put main harness in, reassemble and nope the two metal prong solenoid was backwards. Do it again and okay it's almost done! Lol nooooope because once I got whatever that solenoid is that drops into the pump I can't get the bolt in that sits under the other solenoid. Now I already know what you're gonna say! Just pull it out! We'll that's what I thought too but jokes on me because I installed the retainer in from the underside and it's head is too big to just spin around in that opening. I'm doing it tomorrow. This has been killing me and with stuff in my own personal life I just don't have the mental compacity right now.

Been a few days. Wife's truck keeps blowing coolant so that's been a ongoing struggle. Finally found coolant under the egr so that's going away. Fixed the solenoid issue on lunch. About to put the servo, bell housing, and converter back. Probably start some other little things before it can go back in just gotta see how the time goes.
I'll get one in the morning since the car isnt where i live unfortunately. It was orange so I assumed it was right but even when I put it on I thought it seemed thicker but just figured maybe because it was new. Converter is in maybe half a inch from the bell housing so still got a lot of room to go. It actually looks like a transmission again so the optimism is high.
I seriously might do a post install write up of all the freaking little things I've learned from all these damn mistakes to help the next guy. Transmission is like an 8th of an inch off the block and won't go more so I stopped and watched a video to see if maybe I didn't put the flex plate on right or something. Turns out I most likely did because when I was doing it I was rushing and didn't even notice that other little hole that's not for a bolt and don't know if it's lined up with the crank or not. I know that's not my hold up but sure is another surprise that just stopped me for the night.
So been reading and thinking about how to get the trans up flush with the motor. I don't have a second jack to tilt the motor back and definitely have seen not to use the bolts to pull it in. Can I though get it back as close as I can on the dowls and put bolts in just enough to support everything so once I put the jack down the weight of the trans tilts the motor and hopefully give me that angle? It was maybe an 1/8th of an inch from flush.
Side note I was reading some of this thread and I am sorry for all the weird grammar. English is my first language i swear but mobile is not great for me.

Best advice is slow down, take your time, and make sure your dowel holes and crank pilot hole for the converter are CLEAN. When installing with a jack ive used a 4x4 or other sturdy peice of wood between the trans and jack to help balance the trans. Just keep checking your torque converter and go SLOW checking the torque converter periodically. If anything gets tight then stop and reassess.
