4l60e binding reverse
I wouldnt, The band could be partially applying and burn up and or damage the drum too. I am curios is maybe the band came off the anchor pin during install . It would be hard for me to imagine pin so short that 2nd nor 4th would apply at all. as stated more dianostics is needed and should have been done before installing the servo again. On the plus side if the anchor pin is off the band that can be corrected with a VB removal.
In short I would not drive till I had found and solved the issue.

I think i found my own answer, doesnt see likely i can reposition the band without pulling it again. Part of me really thinks I don't have the band in right as this is my first time and every video I watched you don't really get a good view of the install and seating.

How much of the band is visible if i remove the valve body? Im curious and worried that the servo side isnt in right. I will still get a dial gauge and check the servo with no seals but also want to be prepared if its not that.

With the VB also off you can air check your servo assy and watch your band apply and release with your eyes.

So it's been a while because I've been working a lot of OT and my wife's truck has been acting up and that will always be my priority one. So I don't have measurements of servo travel but I know it's way more than 1/8th. I just pressed on the servo on my work van and the travel distance between the two is significant so I don't think the longer pin I got is the solution or at least not the only problem I have. I think the band did come off the anchor but also I'm not expert clearly. Also thinking about it the work van takes a lot more pressure than mine to move.

I'm gonna try tomorrow if time allows which who knows with the way things have gone the last few months. Just to cover my bases with the multiple times I've had to retest this last bit. I'll have to jack it up, disconnect the drive shaft, unbolt the torque arm, unbolt the exhaust, unbolt the crossmember, pop the servo out, drop the pan, go through the linkage for the band, then check travel with the old servo pin, possibly rebuild servo with the new pin, recheck servo clearance, reassemble? I'm sorry for needing clarity but between this with my transmission and now the wifes duramax probably needing head gaskets I'm really trying to cover my bases because these vehicles have been a disaster the last few months.
Yes seems you have had a "series of unfortunate events" but yes sounds right on all there is to do. . Might it be easier to drop exhaust than pull trans down or does body keep servo from coming out? I dont have camaro but in my own car ImpalaSS its easier to just drop the exhaust than try and lower trans, My crossmemeber is a monster pain in ***, I want to get a tubular crossmember for it and an aluminum drive shaft sometime this summer as I have a vibration roar at about 70mph up and I think its the driveshaft. The ujoint dont fit the holes very snuggly at all , not falling out but if it were not for the clips im pretty sure they would just fly right out , So I think that is my source.

Please excuse typos, My keyboard has mind of its own accompanied with my poor typing skills and ussually multi tasking. It tends to get unreadable sometimes.
But I like to try and help in a timely manor as much as possible.

Trans in a 4gen F-Body, you will have to drop the tail of the trans down. I leave the driveshaft in, and just remove the crossmember. I am able to leave the exhaust in, but my exhaust isn't stock. You will have to remove and install the servos in pieces.

it's been a while since I've been under it so I'm a little foggy on it. Good to know on the drive shaft I didn't think it would angle enough with it still in. What about the torque arm then?
Done for the night but not finished. Band seems to have some play in it so back to it again tomorrow. Oh and bad news is I thought I've been smelling a slight distinctive burn smell but though maybe I was freaking myself off but there looks to be clutch material in the fluid. Yeah I know I deserve a lecture about the fact I've driven it but with my wife's truck being basically inoperable and $100 a week on ubers just to get to work I felt it justifiable.

So I quit for the night. Beat on the transmission with a rubber mallet all around the anchor and I don't think it's moving. The update though is frank is right again, the band is not on the pin. The slack through the shifter hole is more than I realized last night and I found someone with the same problem on another forum. There is a opening by the tcc solenoid? Where you should see both ends of the band and I only see the servo side. When I stick my finger in there and hold the clip and press in the servo I can feel it press the band.
I'm getting worried I may have to pull the trans. I hit it so many times with my mallet, wd40, tried drilling it and it slides up under the pressure of me pressing the drill to it. I bought a strong magnet but it's to big so the pulling power on the pin is next to nothing.
I have to pull it out again
bought better drill bits and not even putting a dent in the pin. Nothing I am doing is making any progress what so ever. Worst part is im pretty sure its not that the band came off the pin but that I never put it onto the pin honestly. I am on after hours on call service till the 16th so I'm not sure I will be at it for a while or not.
