Default Precision Industries Warranty

I sent my TC back to Precision Industries b/c the clutch blew out of the TC 1000 miles after the restall. Has anyone else had to send their TC back into PI or another company for this (or a similar) problem? The guy at PI was kind of being a jerk, and it didn't sound like they wanted to admit that their converter would fail like that. Maybe when they see it, it will all get sorted out and be fine. I had heard that PI had great customer support, I guess I'll have to wait and see for that.

The trans was just rebuilt and everything else in the tranny still looked brand new according to the builder. There was clutch material in the pump and the solenoids (and all the tranny clutches were still intact). I have pics of the pump with clutch material in it that I sent PI also.

I've never used a PI converter, always been a TCI guy myself. However, my friend Beau (STL-LT1) has sent his converter back to PI twice and they helped him out for free each time besides shipping.

Best of Luck

That's good to hear. I really think that they should cover the cost of shipping on a warranty issue, but if that's all I have to pay for to get it working again, then I'm not too upset.

BTW-Ben Hippard built my tranny. He lives in Belleville in case you know him. He has my car right now.

I suppose you get what you can with these cars.

I really don't know Ben, but his uncle Darrin and I go back a while now.

Just sent my TC back after a year and a half to get rebuilt. They did it free of charge and all I had to do was pay for $15.00 shipping. Not bad in my book.

Wow, this is the first time I have ever heard of a complaint about Vigi, they have been really a stand up company to deal with in the LT1 community for a good number of years. Any time I have had to deal with them they have been nothing but friendly, also I have always heard from friends that they are very helpfull in working out any issues that people may have had with their converter.

I just spoke with Jack, and they replaced the blown clutch under warranty. No problems with them at all. Maybe I just called them at a bad time/day. They were very friendly and helpful this time and got a quick turn around on the converter. So I have no complaints as long as it WORKS this time!!!!
