Default How long has your stock 4L60E held out?

My 99 has only 13,000 miles on it but at least 400 1/4 mile runs[only 15 or so since the heads and cam install].I had ThunderRace remove torque management with the H/C mail order tune.

I have run Yank convertors[3500,4000 and now 4200]since 1,500 miles on clock.I run a cooler and have dumped the fluid in pan at least 3 times.

The trans is still holding up great[knock on wood].I saw a post where Mystic?? is still on his stock trans with more miles and passes than mine.

I have a Stage 3 Speed Inc trans but I think I will run the stocker until it slips,"if it ain't broke, don't fix it"theory.

How are others fairing with their stockers ?

Should last you long while. I was running pretty good out of the whole with 150 shot and a 3000 stall. I never broke it. I tried so hard and it wouldnt even with a 12Bolt. Made like 100 passes on spray out of the whole and decided to just Build it. All cars are different though...

mine has 55,000 miles on it (mostly highway) and about 75 runs so far. I haven't changed the stock convertor, and I hope to get another year from it before needing a rebuild.

I would like to know how good a job the full trans flush works, pros and cons.

I think one key to long life is a good cooler and no overheating the trans.

Mine lasted 75,000 miles and over 1,000 1/4 mile passes. I broke the forward sprag back ($300 part and install) in febuary and decided to just rebuild the whole tranny. Tranny builder said the transmission looked very good with no wear or tear. I run a 16,000 GVW B&M cooler and schaffer's synthetic transmission fluid with regular trasmission fluid changes.

102,000 miles and it still works...I know it's slippin a lil on the top end due to my Stg 2 heads and X1 cam.

I've been spraying N20 on the car since 60,000 miles up untill 95,000 when the H/C went on.

Don't ever manually shift it, get rid of the torque management and you should be good for awhile.

Dang, those are some impressive results for stock trans.I will keep my stocker in with the new H/C combo[G5X2/AbsoluteSpeed 5.3 heads] and see how it goes.I do have that Speed Inc Stage 3 sitting on a pallet in case it is needed.

20,000 miles and maybe 15 1/4 mike passes with 3000 stall, ran strong! 250 miles on new H/C and dyno tune with PCM LS1 edit by speed shop and without any WOT passes by me, and bam, tranny is getting rebuilt! Very strange.

65,000 miles, ~80 or so 1/4 passes, 3000 stall and trans cooler. line pressure boosted w/ LS1edit. puttin down ~300-307rwhp thru it, no problems yet. Regular fluid changes every 20k miles.

That's good to hear guys. Other than the shift kit, I'm not gonna change anything from stock in the trans.

Original trans: 34,000 miles. Had it rebuilt under warranty (the tech that did it builds a lot of race transmissions so it was set up nice) and it lasted 16,000 more miles. Now the 3/4 clutches are burned.

I'm running stock converter with probably 100 or so nitrous passes and two dozen or so bottles through the car, so I guess I can't complain. Never did a shift kit or trans tuning so it's the price I pay.

Trans is apart in my garage as I post this, hopefully I'll get the cash soon for a big converter and some good internals.

Mine has held up just fine. You can see in my sig how much power I'm putting through it, and my mods. I also manually shift it at the track when I'm running on motor. Never had a problem. 37,000 miles.

I GOT A WHOLE 9K SO FAR GOOD AND DAM JOSEY TQ MANAGEMENT IS A RELIABITLY THING YES YOU WILL GO A BIT FASTER W\O IT BUT NO REMOVING IT IS NOT GOOD (RELIABILTY SPEAKING) FOR YOUR TRANNY NOT TO FLAME YOU OR ANYTHING BUT IVE SEEN YOU SAY IT ALOT AND ALMOST ALL WOULD AGREE THATS SIMPLY NOT TRUE. TQ MANAGEMENT IS NOT NESSARY TO REMOVE ON LIKE STOCK CARS YOU ONLY NEED TO TOUCH THAT STUFF IF YOU GET INTO HIGHER HP OR IF YOU DO A CONVERTER FOR MOST BOLTON CARS REMOVING TQ MANAGEMENT IS NOT A GOOD IDEA IF YOU LIKE A RELIABLE CAR BY REMOVING IT YOU ARE JUST ADDING STRESS TO YOUR TRANNY. ACTUALLLY THE IDEA I SAW THAT I LIKED THE BEST IS TO REMOVE IT OVER A CERTAIN THRODDLE % SO THAT IF YOUR AT WOT YOU GET THAT XTRA BIT BUT WHILE YOUR ARROUND TOWN YOU DONT BEAT YOUR TRANNY
