4l80e converter not holding 1000rwhp /need help
I have a gto warhawk403ci et ls7 heads first dyno pull made 940 rwhp . at top end we had belt slip , so we have upgraded drive system to gilmer . we have stoped the belt slip and gained 3 pounds of boost at intake. Now the converter is not able to hold the power on the dyno . what brand of converters are available at my power levels , the car is street with 19 inch rims 275 rears. The trans is a 4l80e engine makes most power from 4000-6500 rpm. stall should be in range from 3200-4000 any sugestions.

You will probably want a 10 inch converter or 10.5. if your thinking about 9.5 inch converters with that much power they can barely hold on at 600hp. Of course this depends on the dyno to so you never know. If its making a true 1000rwhp that thing better run bottom 8's.

Thanks for responce , what stall speed are you runing on the street or are both cars street and strip also what moods have been done to converters. I built my 4l80e with a friend who owns a trans shop parts were the best money could buy from US . so far the trans hasnt faulted fingers crossed. The converter we have is heating up and is not coping well on dyno.
