Mustang dethroned by Camaro sales
http://www.autoblog.com/2011/01/04/c...010/#continued] This is old news to most but last year was the first time the Camaro outsold the Mustang since the 1985 hair bands era.

The camaro also out sold the mustang for the month of december as well.
It is almost getting to be old news now.
And still no incentives, convertible or z28 model in these sales. All these things will be coming in the next year or so as well as a new interior, new suspension, power bumps etc etc etc (330 hp v6 coming....rumors of more power in the v8 as well for 12 model)
It is amazing how much this new camaro sucks LMAO.

Despite the internet pigpile of hatred the new Camaro I found it to be a very competent car in every respect the week I had an SS. It gives up virtually nothing to the Mustang. It's sales success is well deserved IMO.
Even the Challenger sold to nearly 40,000 units and overall the muscle car market continues to grow as the overall coupe and sports car market shrinks in the US. There's something to be said for all of that I think.
It's a good time to be a muscle car fan and buyer.

Congratulations GM! You did something right!
I expect to see better sales for all 3 "pony cars" next yr, or worse for all 3, only dependent on our wonderful economy. Updates inside and under the hood can't possibly hurt the "desired" level either.
Incentives can be found... Saw 1K "bonus cash" listed on automobilemag .com for the SS, but I can't say when, as it's not dated that I saw. It did say "2011" in the title though. Motortrend has the same ad and NADA claims 1K "loyalty" for anyone with a 99 or newer, on 2010 models. Probably a different deal, but they also say 3.9-4.9% financing is available.
When the ragtop arrives, sales will get a hit, but it won't be all that high because the average 'vert buyer was going to buy anyway. The Z will also help, but the price will scare most buyers away... They'll just get an SS though, unless they REALLY want the power, in which case they'll go elsewhere and dream...
