Any once else consider that this (along with the C6 427 convertibles) are low production specialty cars just trying to burn up excess LS7 inventory?
The c6 is officially dead so no more Z06s are being made but they probably still have a lot of extra parts and there is probably a higher profit on selling them in a specialty car (which also burns up more inventory and counts towards vehicle sales) than as crate engines.
Plus the cars themselves are excellent "halo" cars for public relations

The rumor article I read said it would be a ls7 style engine but it will be getting a HP bump to either 550-600hp depending where the ZR1 engine falls (meaning they will make the new ZR1 powerplant and see if it makes 650,675, or 700hp and the new Z06 engine will get it's power based on a spread)

No, for the record, I don't believe that for 3 seconds!

The 3 second time period is a comparison to how much faster the Z28 is per lap on a road course compared to the ZL1. The Zl1 comes with Good Year Supercar F1 tires. The Z28 comes with a true "R" compound tire that is not recomended for wet weather use. There is a big difference in those two tires, which I garuntee is a large factor in that time difference.
You are also looking at about 530-550 per tire, and I assure you they will not last very long.

You have to look at this new Z28 as more of a street legal factory race car rather than as a track oriented standard production trim model. Once you wrap your head around that fact, then the low production numbers and high asking prices make sense. I would have preferred a MRC equipped 1LE priced out around the mid 40's for the new 28 (to compete directly with the Boss), but I guess GM figured they'd take a play out of a completely different playbook on this one.

PS If reading comprehension is > me... Why can I actually spell words like "recommended" and "guarantee" while you cannot? In the future, I recommend you pick on your little sister...

I really hope this car will be at or lower than ZL1 prices. It would be dumb to have the Z/28 more expensive than a good vette. But I think GM should build the Z/28 with radio options and other accessories. I know they want weight reductions but some people including myself would love this car with options and a kick *** powertrain. If they made the car like that in Synergy Green...sign me up.

They aren't selling any models that use the LS7 in Australia/New Zealand, that's why it's not in the Super Sport sedan. That car will use whatever Holden is already selling in their market which is the L76/LS3 right now and likely the LT1 in the near future.

If HSV chooses to build a second generation W427 based on the VF platform, it's likely. Although I expect them to use the upcoming LT4 which is said to power the 6th gen Camaro Z28.

I read somewhere that this car is going to be in the 50k range. I believe it was from R&D or Motor Trend not sure. However best bet is to just wait and see. Regardless what the price is GM is gonna make a killing on this car for the simple fact of its name. I know if I had the money I would buy it. Hell its a better buy than the ZL1 to be honest. Both the ZL1 and this Z/28 run the 1/4 in low 12s so to say the ZL1 is a beast of a car um not really considering it has a S/C. Id much rather buy the Z/28 because we all have seen what a C6 Z06 can do with a H/C/I mod to it. So you can only imagine what this car can do. Id say look to see this car slightly below the Zl1 but more than the 1LE SS. Is that a fair judgment?
