LS7 slave will not require spacers.
LS6 slave will require spacers.

Good luck

This may sound like a retarded question, but is it mandatory for you to replace the slave when you replace the clutch? Or is it just a good idea?

I'm all for getting a new one in there when I replace my clutch....just curious.

It's personnel preference. If you want to add a little insurance you can replace it when you're in there.

I was thinking the other way around: I'm replacing the slave and was worried that maybe I should be doing the clutch, too!

Nope. My wallet stops here ... I mean there ... I mean, no more money! I'm NOT going to buy a new clutch ... I'm just NOT!

Hahhahaha, with that Maggie and new axles, I'm sure a new clutch is in your future Randy!

Who has done this mod?

Let me clarify my thoughts to make sure I am about to buy the correct slave.

I am about to buy the following:

LS7 clutch and pressure plate
LS7 light weight flywheel
ARP hardware

From what I am reading here, my 04 CTS-V also needs the LS7 slave OR a Katech spacer to use our stock slave.

I need to replace the slave anyways. I found an LS7 slave for $230. An LS6 slave is about $175 plus shipping and $50 for spacer plus shipping.

I would rather just buy the LS7 slave.

I've heard of people finding new ls7 slaves for 90 bucks. Either way, I've always heard the stock slave is way more expensive than the ls7 slave.

Stock slave is over 300. I just watch a brand new LS7 slave sell for 50 plus shipping on eBay.

Thanks for the info. Did you do a remote bleedet as well? Was there any cutting required on the bell housing?
