Default ?s for LS7 clutch/fly install on V1

Okay, looks like I am going this route soon. I think the slave must be replaced, but does it require a spacer. Please advise, and also shed any light on anything else that needs to be covered on the install, as always, mucho grasses.

DO NOT DO THIS. You have waaaay too much power for the LS7 clutch. You need to look at a Monster Stage 3 (or more).

if hes still running the stocker..and got decent mileage out of it why not do the ls7 clutch..? its rated for higher torque/hp..plus its alot cheaper..

you have to run the ls7 slave..just swap the bleeder or run a remote..and notch the bell just a tad

Go over to the C6 section and talk to some guys with Zo6s. The LS7 clutch isn't holding much power for them after they start modding. Onebadcad has more ponies at the wheels then they have at the crank.

More ponies(I think torque is more proper when talking about clutches though) and weights a heck of a lot more.

"JDawg" is doing a LS7 clutch swap in my V this weekend.

Look at monster. Good prices and complete swap kits all you need to buy is new bolts.

It depends on your driving.

If you do mostly street runs, the LS7 will last.

If you toss on some D.R's or something stickier and hit the track it wont hold for ****...

You dont have to notch the bellhousing with the ls7 slave. I did the install a little bit ago, all you need to do is slightly bend the line. Not a big deal at all.

Stock slave + spacer
LS7 slave + nothing

I'd get the remote bleeder and install that while you're in there though.

I installed a stock LS7 clutch presure plate and flywheel in my V. I second the fact that an LS7 slave #24237634 is a bolt in swap when going to a LS7 clutch or probably any standard depth clutch. Like previously stated the bleeder will have to be swapped out of your original cylinder. The line is soft enough that you can bend it by hand and reroute out of a V bellhousing. There is extra line/pipe that I rerouted during install.

I am running stock power so this clutch was my cheapest option.

Thanks for the tips and advice. I will research further regarding grabbing power on the Vette forums, I did know that many C6Z still run stock clutch and have over 500RWHP. Then again, I think TQ is always the concern for a clutch, mine is higher than HP, so I may end up having to get one on them fancy Porsche triple-disc titanium ******, of course I will be back asking my LS1Tech bruthas for a $10+K loan to get this done.
