i see what your saying maybe someone can do one of these comparisons for the V....(doub't full but it could happen)

http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=196642
6whp is negligible but losing out on 16wtq sucks damnnnn i guess you have to pay to play

the after tune #s mean nothing since the old setups weren't tuned for

There are bad experiences with every product on the planet. These fanboys won't put anything but gold on their V's. Pretty silly if you ask me. If I had been as picky and finneky with my parts, I'd still be way behind everyone in mods. So in closing, to the fanboys, keep saving up your pennies for your gold dipped parts....in the mean time, i'll be miles ahead of you and your mods.

Its funny after you RANT, then you are perplexed as to why kooks would product more power. Equal length does wonders, and even more so with more mods, so adding a cam with Kooks pays off AGAIN with the headers because you would gain MORE so than if you had pacesetter headers, same setup... make sense? Your just looking at the individual part, some of us look at how it all affects the whole system.

if you look at the entire picture, it starts to become clear why many dig.
perhaps saving 400 on headers (that dont aid other mods as well) is NOT the best option if some for example goes with a FI setup down the road...

Not sure what you found funny about that, sorry to have confused you lol. I was simply asking for reasoning behind someone claiming problems with this product. I would assume you were/are one of the ones I was talking about, thus the defensiveness.

And FWIW, I have yet to make up my mind. I'm still waiting for an unbiased opinion on these new ones before I hop on the wagon either way, although with the Maggie, I may Have to go with 1 7/8, which will eliminate these anyway.

Read my posts. Then search, pacesetters vs XXX has been covered to death on many forums. Pacesetters = mild steel, shorter tubes, no merge spikes. You do get less power out of them, they will eventually rust (even coated). They are btw, much cheaper.

I have Kooks stainless steel headers on my V. If I would do it all over again, I'd go with the ceramic coated pacesetters. Only because it is easier on the wallet, and in all honest truth, there is really no real world proof that they make less horsepower. But then again, Im not a kooks nutswinger.

There are guys going faster with pacesetters down the strip, and there are guys going faster with kooks aswell. Its a never ending battle.

I've had both kooks and pacesetter on my cars. No difference in performance. Damn cars ran identical times with kooks and with pacesetters.

Id buy the kooks if money wasnt an issue but ive had good experiences with pacesetters in the past and for the money, they are nice headers IMO. Either way, they will add performance and give it that LT sound we all like. For the other $600 you would spend on the kooks for a few more unnoticed ponies, buy a NX kit and run a 150 shot and pacesetters. lol

i agree id just go with kooks if i had 1300+ to throw down the toilet. but for 500 id rather go with pacestters and buy a cam setup with the rest. people read one bad post and automatically they suck and performance sucks etc. I just dont see how much of a difference they could be performance wise then kooks, and id give up 2hp for 800 dollars in savings

I dont know why there's all this confusion?

$450 headers are the same as any other $450 LT uncoated header. They're the majority of whats out there.

$1000 headers are stainless and for sure they put more R&D into them, because they're double the price!

Some people dont care if something will last forever(stainless). THey just want to go fast, want to get it now and want it cheaper(mild steel).

Well said oshia.

Buy a fast car, then buy the cheapest parts to put on it. Classic. Anyone up for some new $49.99 tires?

every mod you have on your car has a more expensive version which prob offers better quality. so you cheaped out as well.
