$100 each for dampers is surprising to you, particularly for factory parts? If your username means what I think it means, then decent shocks and struts for that car would've been just as expensive.

Same here. Purdy Blue.

OP - If you think $400 for a set of stock ones is expensive, then you don't want to look at the aftermarket ones for the V.

I JUST sold a full set of FE4's with less than 30k on them for $150. Keep checking ebay. They are out there.

Not meaning to hi-jack your thread but I do have a strut/shock related question.....I have a floppy driver's front wheel, it's only noticeable on a very few roads and only below around 50mph or so, I was wondering if this sounds like just a shock issue or a more serious suspension problem? I've had it up on a lift and it seems to be pretty solid and done the bounce up and down shock test with pretty good return. It is an 04 with 79k so I figured they were about gone anyway.....

I would go with new stock dampers over KYB and I'm a KYB dealer.

I enjoyed Bilsteins on my Caprice but a stock set of FE4s for $400 or less if they are low mile takeoffs is probably what you want. They do ride nice, but I like my FG2s. I also shy away from KYB brand anything (experience on someone else's car) and, sadly, QA1, also due to an experience on other cars.
