After my Katech short shifter was installed; we are getting a bad driveshaft vibration. It seems to be happeing right at the carrier bushing.

Any thoughts?

Did you unbolt the driveshaft at all?

Yes, it was marked before removal, then bolted back up aligned with the marks.

Damn son, you dropped the drive shaft for the shifter install?

It's got to be an install/alignment problem (unless you banged on it with a fork lift).

I dropped my drive shaft when I installed my Katech short shifter and dropped my stock exhaust but the stock exhaust did not go back on.
Corsa went in.

I did mine from the top and didn't have to remove anything but the shifter

Reclock the driveshaft and test drive until the vibration is gone?

I've been meaning to post the conclusion to the saga. It ended up being the impeller shaft end binded and was transmitting the vibration down the driveshaft. Luckily the shop owner is friends with the driveshaft/axle shop next door. He took the driveshaft off the car and back to his shop where he repacked the bearings and all was well Albeit 6hrs later.

Sorry to raise a dead thread, but could please explain what bearings were replaced? My problem could possibly be related.

I presume he was referring to the ball bearings in the cv part of the driveshaft. At the rear.

Ahhh! Yes I read that wrong last night.

I thought he was talking about replacing bearings, not just repacking. That is not my issue, my cv joint still articulates.
