CTS V Z06 Clutch **I know this isn't new to anyone but I though I would post this up for the ones on the edge.**
Just finished up an install of a C6 Corvette flywheel, clutch disc and pressure plate along with the the slave cylinder on a first generation V.
Easy enough install (Cadillac technician by day), installed a urethane differential bushing as well since this one was toasted(which was also cake thanks to Kent Moore and their overpriced tools I don't have to pay for) and went for a MILD test drive since this isn't my personal car.
WOW.
If anyone wants to keep the stock apply pressure of their clutch, doesn't need any more holding power and wants to improve the drive ability of the first gen V, this is THE clutch to do. Even if you don't need a clutch yet I think it would be money worth spending.
I have driven V's with aluminum flywheels and higher capacity clutches and while those have their place this was pretty damn hot for someone who just wants to increase their driving pleasure in these cars.

As far as I have been informed via my parts guy, the LS3 and LS7 RPO engines have the same clutch and pressure plate but I haven't compared part numbers between the two.
What I installed was looked up as a LS7 clutch disc and pressure plate with the matching flywheel and this is what I have heard the swap called.
Another note, which has been mentioned before I am sure is the weight reduction you get with installing this clutch and flywheel.
The stock dual mass flywheel ALONE must weigh over 70lbs. I will put it on the scale tomorrow but it was heavier than the stock Corvette flywheel, clutch disc and pressure plate combined!
Multiply the weigh saved by the radius, gear ratio and tire diameter and that is a lot of mass you don't have to spin around anymore!

I have a used one, suppose to have only 2k miles on it. Free. I have an LS9 in my basement ready to install, so don't need it*.

On the mild test drive I took after the install, I noticed hardly any increased noise from the drivetrain.
Since I also installed the urethane differential bushing there was a slight increase in noise from the rear end but nothing I would consider harsh, bad or anything. I quite liked it!

If you are making a lot more than power/torque than the LS7(505), then I would lean towards the LS9 clutch or an aftermarket setup because you may exceed the holding capacity of the LS3/7 clutch.

Remember the 505 hp of the LS7 is in a much lighter vehicle, so I would take a few hp from that as a threshhold, fwiw...Still, if you are say 475 engine hp or less, then I bet it's the way to go. That will be my choice when it's time!
OP - is there a spacer or anything you need to use the LS7 flywheel, to replace the dual mass we have stock?

I'm due for a clutch change, and the LS7 clutch is an OEM Piece
Swapping a clutch by yourself is a lot of work,
The last thing I want is Vibration and a Clutch that won't Fully engage
