Default Decision time

So over a month ago I decided to Maggie my 06 V with 3800 miles. Why not? From Hendrix Engineering I bought the Maggie 112, Hendrix axles with upgraded CVs and Innovators West 10% harmonic balancer. Maggie will arrive next Wednesday, or so UPS swears. Been holding back on the headers and have narrowed down to three (3) choices.
Choice 1. Brand new set of OBX stainless 1 7/8" with "resonators" which are just hollow tubes resembling hi flow cats Price: about $500 with shipping

Choice 2. Brand new set of Pacesetters that come ceramic coated and with an extension piece that bolts up to the stock exhaust. Pacesetters are only 1 3/4 diameter. Price about $550 with shipping

Choice 3. A used set of 1 7/8 Kooks with full hi flow cats. The owner bought them after they had been dented by being dropped on a V that was lowered too far to the ground too far. He had them ceramically coated on the inside and out, both headers and cats. The "dents" are all on the bottom and mostly covered by the heavy ceramic coating job. He wants $1100 plus shipping

Not sure if the photos will come through, but they show much detail.
My buddy just bought a brand new set of Kooks/cats for under $1200 brand new, but without the coating. Like some opionions because I gotta buy something soon!

Default header choices

BUT, the pacesetters ONLY come in 1 3/4, which is considered the "baby size" Real headers are 1 7/8, or am I mistaken here,

Does anybody have any dyno facts that back-up the 1 7/8" argument over 1 3/4" headers. It's obvious they have the potential to blow more air, but does it build more horsepower? If so, does it only build more horsepower in a supercharged car and not help a NA car?...

I'm not doubting Kooks or 1 7/8" in general. I just wonder if your $/hp will stack up when it's all laid down on the big roller.

Since he is going with a maggie, the 1 7/8" would be the ticket.
If naturally aspirated, the only difference would be a slight movement on the torque curve and that would vary depending on many other variables which becomes a moot point.

Haven't seen any threads on the 'welding issues' concerning OBX. The 7/8 vs 3/4 is just simply the ability to flow more. How much cfm does a maggie push at 8psi? There's no supporting data. Just calculations based on cylinder volume and pressure. Your cam is the major variable in that equation. And It's just a pain in the *** to install headers so why not get the better flowing set and be done. No matter what, FI is going to push the air. Most TT platforms run stock manifolds due to casting and limited heat dissipation for spool times. And you see those upwards towards 800-1000HP.
