You load it in the dvd slot and wait for a good deal of time for it to initialize (can take several minutes and you should hear it reading the disc). Then press the NAV button for it to load/display the map picture.
Are you sure it is the proper map dvd? What version? What are the markings on it?

as long as you have the firmware update done on your 04, you can use the latest nav disc from GM for the 04-07 Vs. You can also use the nissan/infiniti navteq 6.9 dvd that has the latest 2010-2011 maps. I use a copy of that.

The process is as follows:
With the parking brake on, and the key to assy position, put the transmission in 8th gear. Then lower the back passenger side window down halfway, then up 3/4 of the way, then all the way down. If you have tinted windows, then reverse this process. Then open the front passenger door all the way until the car dings 17 times. Turn the heated seats on high until you get swamp ***, then click the left turn signal (only 3 times, anymore and you have to start all over and who wants to do that?)
Or just get the Nissan/Infiniti Navteq 6.9 DVD

Anyone know if Nissan/Infiniti Navteq 7.6 works? I've downloaded it & when I get my V back from the shop, I'll try it out.
I've also found Navteq 6.7. I have not seen 6.9.
If you know how to use torrents, it's out there.
. . . And LMAO Lollygagger!

So how do you use the 10-11 maps with 6.9? Could I extract the data from 7.6 & use it w/6.7 or 6.9?
Is there a forum dedicated to this? I haven't looked, don't have the time this morning. Doing a company wide demo of our project. EEK.

I've seen a forum dedicated to navigation maps and car navigation maps but it is all geared toward European users/cars and doesn't have what we need for our Vs. I haven't seen 6.9 anywhere on the net other than craigslist.
BTW - I believe navteq 6.7 is old 2008 map data but probably still much better than what your car came with.
