I'd like to hear what was done to it beyond the paint...Looks nice!
I cannot believe how much those cars are now (well may have gone down a little in the past few years), but also same thing with Chevelles and other 'pony' or 'muscle' cars...it's insane. Funny thing is I remember when I was looking for my first car, in 1988, you could get a really clean 1st gen camaro for ~$3k and $6k would get you something crazy. Forgot how much Z/28's were then, but of course a little more...HEck, there were a lot of "mopars", like R/T's with 383 and 440's for $7k or so then; Hemi's were $$$, but really not that much compared to what happened to them in price...Insane what happened to the prices on them and even in the 80's you still saw a decent amount of them on the road...Now, you hardly ever see them.
Looks like a nice car you have and congrats...I've never been a huge fan on the 1st gens, but wouldn't mind having one...I'd love a 70-72 RS though or a 70-72 T/A with 455...mmm.

LOL, yeah know what you mean! I've owned several cars that I wish I could've hung onto but what can ya do...It's funny though in the early 90's, while the 'muscle cars' were going up they seemed expensive then and we're talking 1/4 of the price they got up to. I knew they'd go up, but just didn't have the $$$ then. My chevelle malibu 350 was $1200 in 1990, lol and remember I couldn't sell it for $3500 in '94 (it was complete in good shape, but that was before I really started getting into it)...Can't believe what they go for now and when you're talking about BB's and SS' it just gets ridiculous!
There were always those that were more than others though of course, but even things like GTO's weren't too bad...
I like the original camaros way more than the new ones, regardless of how much high tech stuff they have...However, least GM made it decent for a retro...I wanted a 65 fastback in the worst way (and esp. a GT-350 or GT-500 but those were $$ even then) in high school. Not sure if I saw the new one then if I would've liked it. I do like how Ford finally put a strong engine in them though (5.0), but there are just too many on the road.
I saw a ~70 Challenger R/T plum crazy on the freeway today...clean...man, those things looks 100X better than the bloated on chrylser has now.

Interior is a mix of old stuff and new/old stuff. New carpet and headliner. Original door panels are in great shape. Seats are good, but have seen a little better days. The only big flaw is a rip in the dash pad.
Nothing super special in the engine bay. It's a healthy 307 and a TH-350. Eventually it will be an LS2 most likely, with a 4 or 5 speed auto, if I can find a 5-speed I can control with an aftermarket computer. Seems like people are only using 4 speeds in retro builds.
The first focus will be on getting the interior up to snuff. Make sure the heat works nice, keyless start, etc. I respect people who like the originality, but this is going to be my car, and in my car, I like modern technology (tastefully integrated of course).
