Well, not bad for a novice...
Somebody backed into me in a parking lot and cracked and creased the front bumper. I wanted to give it a try, so I used some of that pre-mixed paint from the auto parts store for paint, fixed the cracks with some fiberglass on the back side, and used flexible bond and some high build primer to smith everything out.
I'll be honest and say I'll eventually I'll have it professionally done, but I'm happy for now!
What do you think??

Yea a local guy quoted $500, and he does good work. But I have a total of $100 in it as it sits, so I can definitely live with it for a while. It's that Duplicolor premixed base/clear system they sell at Oreilleys.
I think I need to spend more time buffing it out... in the sun, it looks just a tad 'hazy' or 'foggy' compared to the stock paint, it's not as rich. Then again, that could just be the cheap paint... or my novice painting!![Grin](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_grin.gif)
And the hood is Extreme Composites..

Yeah I learned from hanging around at a buddy's body shop that 99% of a GOOD paint job is all in the prep. The 03 Cobra I had, had been half *** painted on the front end and I was sure that it was gonna need a re-spray. I worked with him on it for 2 evenings and had about 1 1/2 cases of Bud Lights invested in his skills, equipment and shop. He knew all the tricks of the trade and we were able to cut the paint down with some compound and buff it back to almost perfect. I had before/after pics because no one believed that we were able to get it that straight without painting it. Be patient and you'll get it there... I'm all about saving $$ when possible.

I had an idea for you guys with the BADASS hoods and I FULLY understand not wanting to drill them. I know that I've ridden in some vehicles throughout the years that had the wipers with the spray nozzles built into the wiper arm itself. If you could find some that would work lengthwise or just retro fit some of these type sprayers onto the existing ones it would give you function and still maintain a clean hood. Just a thought I had while changing the brake pads on mine just now......Make payments for great ideas to damonwns@paypal.com LMAO!
