Default Need some help (wrecked my V)

Well wrecked it last night, front fender caved into front tire(driver side), roof buckled around the sunroof, got full coverage but waiting on insurance to get back to me. Hit wet spot on the road and it got loose, jumped the medium and glanced off steel light pole.
It started up and sounded fine but not sure about the front suspension and what is involved there. I know more about older cars like 72 Z28.
It is a 05 in mint condition inside and out but 94k miles.
I know if totaled they will look at NADA etc., which seems to be low for these cars.
What I am asking is if you know of current ads for sale please send me the links via PM or to wcbrown1967@yahoo.com so I can provide proof of actual value or replacment cost.
Thanks!!!
Also I started thread in the Texas section about swapping the LS6 into my A4 02Z28 yes I know if fits but what will the other challeges be?

Why not try autotrader or cars dot com for the ads for sale?

When I was thinking about selling my car, the average price for an 05 V on Autotrader was ~$22,500. You can narrow the search more since you have higher miles.

I was in the same shoes in december. Here is what progressive claim agent sent me as far as estimates of cars comparable to mine in the local area that recently sold. They payed me out for the car and I bought it back for pennies on the dollar. No need to stress man you are going to come out on top if you buy it back and have someone fix it for you cheap...This is the best list you are gonna get right from the source...you are welcome and best of luck
ps. mine has 62700 on it

So I'm not alone here. I also wrecked my Redline '05 last December. 15,900 miles and perfect.

I was going around a bend and the rear end got loose, I corrected and then it felt as if I was on ice. Front tires didn't bite and I slid into a pole. Was only going about 10mph when I made contact, but the drivers side door took the hit, so the roof and floorboard also bent. Actually, I was only doing about 40-45 around the bend when it started to slide - Nothing I haven't done a 100 times before. Cops figured cold tires/cold road and/or I could've hit a greasy spot around the bend.
All I got was a few cuts on my forearm from the side window shattering.

Other than the door and windshield, it really didn't 'look' that bad, but it was totaled.

IMO, insurance really took care of me. Car was immaculate w/ low miles - Ended up getting a bit over 27K for it which made me feel a little better, but it still sucks.

I replaced it with a Silver one-owner 23K mile '04. Stock except for a Volant and Skip-Shift. Pretty damn nice shape too! I haven't had an accident with any of my cars in over 20 years. Hopefully I won't ever again.

If you do buy it back from the insurance company (if totalled) I'd be very interested in purchasing your rims... at least two of them.

Hmm interesting..Buy it back and part it out if it's be yawned repairable. I got completely lucky for my corvette. I bought my car in 09 with 17k miles paid 36g for it.. wrecked it 2 weeks later. Insurance company did there part and said it was totaled even though air bags didn't deploy. Paid my car loan off and bought it back from them for 6,600$. Tore it apart and found the frame wasn't bent. Looked around found all the parts I needed for 3gz. Little bit of elbow grease and here it is today in my sig you will see I so happened to only had to replace the whole right side fenders, door, bumper, hood, head lamp. Yes I paid 9g's for that car.. That's including the cf hood painted as well Just my .02

Thanks Imstock02, I made out great on a "limited\lowproduction" a while back.
If I buy it back it will be my DD till whenever, I will get it repaired correctly but drive it and never try to sell it as a perfect vehicle.

Andrewzpusu,
all the rims had curb rash when I got it, and I know for sure most are f'ed up. I just got it back to the garage this afternoon and not sure if any are worth anything.

54inches, I'm very busy with my kid and his multiple teams he is on. If I buy it from the thieves(ins. co) please let me know something, you know what side of town I'm on

I don't plan on selling my car anytime soon. If I would though I'll still get profit out of it. Most salvage corvette got for 18-22g if they are fully repaired. Or you can get a repairable one for about 13-15gs. I got 9k invested in mine. You see insurance company's have to sell it to you at a % of what they can get out of it. Just do some research on the parts you need if it is repairable. If not see what they'll sell it back to you and part it out. I'm sure you'll be able to make a lot more cash out that way.

I am trying to figure out what the salvage value is or I what should expect to pay to keep my car. Say they value my car at X amount of $$$ and for me to keep the car they deduct the salvage $$ from the initial value what have any of you paid to get your car back? Need to figue out the #s by Monday.
About 10 yrs or so ago I was in same situation and the "salvage value" was $500 so they cut me a check for the value of the car -$500. I am trying to find out if anyone has experience or can tell me what the insurance co. gonna tell me the "salvage value" of my V is.
54inches I will let you know if I keep it, I'm working on getting a 20x40 inside storage area and if I keep the car I will have it moved there and I would love to have some help fixing or parting the car out. Guessing since you said opposite side of town your in the Spring area. PM if ou like but decision will be made early next week.
This just sux, I believe that the front end wasn't tightned back up after some work. It appears that the control arm just came loose but I can't prove it.
Anyhow I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

I bought it back for just under 3 gs and got almost 13 back cause mine was an "R" title due to hail. Bought just under 2gs in parts to bring her back and 2gs to my friends garage to fix it and paint it. If it wasn't salvage I'd be getting more like 18back and the car. Still leaves me at 8 plus profit. Could care less if its salvage now after the accident cause it was earlier anyway due to hail...Only thing that sucks is not having a car at the moment. Funny how insurance loves to total cars when in reality its a 4g fix

Oh ps. they tried to **** me and say the salvage value was 3 gs. And either I could take the 16000 flat out and they keep the car. Or I take $10000 and the car...Made no sence If the value they quote is it being worth 3 but the price dropped the value by 6... I explained this and argued with them a bit and they just took the 16000 then and subtracted the 3 lowball number they gave me and fucked themselves in the long run leaving me 13 and the car...They obviously wanted to make up some money trying to resell it at a salvage auction which would easily yield them 8 for the way it is.

Yes sir I like how you done it Even rebuilt salvage vehicle you made profit. Some cars are easy fix but a lot isn't. Op sounds like a dousie but you wont know until tear down. Even if it is he should be able to make a lot more cash back from parting out then what he paid for it from the insurance company.

I completely agree just whatever you do dont let them rape you and keep your car. You will always make money as long as you buy it back and be nice but firm with them otherwise they will ride you bro.

They valued my car at 17k, not bragging but it was showroom condition, inside and out, I've looked at two local and both are not near mint.
I can buy mine back at salvage value for $4500 which sounds crazy.
Anyhow I got a body shop guy coming over to check it out before I turn it over to the insurance.
I have a free and clean title.
