Default Katech LS9 clutch for V1

Does anyone have this in their car? Im curious to know if its worth it. I have driven a ZR1 before and the pedal feel is superb. My main concern is the light weight flywheel its sold with. I dont want my daily driver to be a pain in the *** to drive in traffic everyday. Any feedback helps, Thanks!

Trust me, the lighter flywheel is good with how heavy the disc's and pressure plate is in the LS9 clutch. I don't personally have one but I daily drove my Exedy which is only 35 lbs total and it was fine. Definitely light but the LS9 is quite a bit heavier.

I have one and I love it. No problems driving around town or at the drag strip.

Drives stockish but with less noise.

Be careful if you beat on it a lot. The pressure plate assembly is a strapped design and I've broken two of them. I have over 500 rwHp so it may not be an issue below that. They felt amazing to drive in traffic before they broke though.

I have the Lingenfelter LS9 clutch. Comes with a steel flywheel. It drives awesome, no issues and I am over 500rwhp NA.

Had mine installed last summer. Love it. Smoother engagement AND disengagment compared to stock especially at slow, parking-lot speeds.

But, IIRC your question was, "Is it worth it?" The answer is, probably not.

BUT, how many friggin' times do you get to go around in life? I stopped asking that question as it relates to my car.

If you already had a fully functional LS7 clutch, would there be a noticeable feel and performance difference with the LS9?

There might be some "feel" difference (single disk vs twin disk ... isn't that right?), but unless you're at the limit of holding power, how would know if there's a performance difference?

Personally, unless I was Mitt Romney, I wouldn't replace a fully-functional LS7 setup for an LS9 setup unless the "feel" difference was rather significant.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I was asking if it was worth is because I have a LS9 clutch already, I thought it was just strange the only flywheels for sale that will work on a LS6, Katech and Lingenfelter, was $820. If anyone knows of any other options let me know. Still going to do it though, I need the car to be performing at its best for TX2K12!!

I will have a slightly used Monster III for sale in a few weeks.

I am replacing it with an LS9.
