Default Looking to buy an ipod interface for the V asap... SUGGESTIONS???

Yes i went online and searched but a million different options/threads popped up with no real answer as to which kit is suggested. I'd like to get a ipod interface that will be plug and play. My old car had a kit in it that plugged into the XM box on the rear deck and ran to the front of the car where i could control my ipod on the cable by the console. It was a pretty nice kit. I bought it used on here and cant remember the name of it.

Anyway, I'm looking for a nice kit for the silver V now and I'd prefer not to cut and splice anything if i don't need to. I'd prefer a kit that will show the artist and song title on the screen and that will allow me to use the buttons on the factory unit to change tracks and stuff.

What do you guys suggest??

If i dont find a nice interface setup for a good price, im tempted to just spend the extra $$$ and go with an aftermarket double din setup from kenwood or pioneer as long as it doesn't interfere with disabling traction control and the other features that run through the factory unit. I recall seeing a thread where someone upgraded to an aftermarket double din and had no problems but i'd want to confirm this before doing it myself. And the install kit that i would see on the dash would have to look better than just cheap plastic since the factory unit looks so good in the dash (other than the chipping buttons and stuff).

LMK fellas!!

PA15-Vette. If you need a demo, I suppose I could record a 10 second video showing how well it works.

Thanks fellas! Demo won't be necessary unless u really feel like going outta the way to make one but as long as its a good kit, I'll just take y'alls word. Seemed to be a lot of different suggestions and kits available but I know designs and features get better with time so I wanted something up to date and easy to use with good features and for a reasonable price.

What will that kit run me?

Don't buy the PA50-VETTE. Apparently you didn't see my thread about it. I tried buying it as an upgrade to the PA15-VETTE, and experienced all kinds of issues, including never-ending bursts of static.

What they tried to do with the PA50-VETTE is add more smarts to the head unit so that you don't have to touch your iPod/iPhone. Unfortunately, they obviously never tested those controls on the CTS/CTS-V, because a lot of the essential controls require you to hit buttons that cannot be reprogrammed on the CTS-V (for instance, the Menu button), which means that typical use flowpaths (e.g.: selecting an artist and playing a song) will also make you accidentally change settings in your car.

Frankly, if you ask me, they should just put these head units into Direct Mode automatically and leave the other stuff out. The real advantage of the PA50-VETTE is that it has Bluetooth support, but it's not built-in and they haven't developed the Bluetooth module yet. There's no ETA for it, so who knows whether it'll ever materialize.

The bursts of static were just the nail in the coffin.

Ahh I see. Yeah... I'd be ok with permanent direct mode as long as it showed the track info on the screen. Really... Just as long as the sound quality is good and it plays when I want it to, I'll be happy.

Love my PA-15. The direct mode doesn't show artist/track info, but I don't use it anymore because I jailbroken my phone and installed a package that lets me control it right from the screen but getting rid of the "Accessory Connected" screen.

It'll have the "Accessory Connected" screen until you hit the direct mode button.

Neo prolink v2 works like a charm for me. Shows all the info about the tracks and songs and can be used from your iPod/iPhone amd from your display screen on the car. I was just happy it charged the new iphone

It is the neo kit i had in my old car. I just looked it up online and its $199. I bought it used off another member on here for $150 i believe with the dash mount and everything.

Whats the difference between the two kits? Looks like they both do pretty much the same thing but i dont remember my old kit showing the tracks on the screen and i had to adjust everything from the ipod itself (which is fine).

Im guessing that pa15 is the better route to go for the money.
