Looking at a used 07 cts-v
Ive been looking for months now on and off for a good used one,got busy with work and gave up for a while.
I came across a very nice looking 07 cts-v,black,extremely clean,bu the car has 95K miles.
Would this be a good buy,or is this considered high-mileage for these types of cars? thanks

It's probably high compared to the average for sale. I don't think it's near the end of its life though at that mileage. I would expect the price to reflect that mileage, though.

I looked for 8months before I got mine. I came close to a few, but glad I held out and found one in perfect condition with only 37k miles on it. But that's just me, I'm picky as hell and was willing to wait.

I've got a 2004 for sale with low miles and a really reliable build.
It's listed in classifieds: https://ls1tech.com/forums/vehicle-c...onversion.html

My advice would be...if you are looking at a high mileage 07, you can get a low mileage 04 or 05 for the same price, if not cheaper. Or go for an similar mileage 04-05, and save your self several grand. If you look around, you can find 80k to 100k mile 04-05 for the mid teens ($14k-$16). And if you dig here, you will find a pretty well modded one in that price range too.
The only big diffence between the 04-05 and 06-07 is the engine. But they make the same power and nearly identical preformance numbers. The LS2 V1s are slightly quicker due to the better and more even power curve. Other then that, the only thing that is different in an 07 versus the other 3 model years is the radio buttons on the steering wheel.
The 07 still has major rear end issues and all the other common quirks that the rest on the V1 model years share. The only real benefit to an 07 is that they will be easier to fianance then the earlier models, depending on the bank and you.
Just my .02...Good luck in what ever you decide to do.

Thats def some great advice, thank you for all the information guys.
I actually just ran across another one finally,a silver 04 thats within 60 miles of me.
It only has 60k miles on it,so the 04-05's would be just as good as an 06 or07 then?
Im not looking to race it,just drive it on the weekends, here and there etc,but i also dont wanna sacrifice power if the 06-07's are faster.

The only thing that would make the ls2 V faster in stock form would be the driver...they are so close in performance that it would be a drivers race..

But most of the Diffs have been swaped out in the 04-05 Vs, and then just get some upgraded axles and maybe CVs and you will be better off. And this hurts me to say, since I am tring to sell my 07 and I keep hearing "but I can get this 05 with similar mod and mile for 18-20k"...haha.

Well I'm not sure if this ones rear has been upgraded or not,I went and checked it out, numbers worked out,so should be going tomorrow to trade in my trailblazer ss in on it.
The cars really clean,no issues(that I could tell),it has an exhaust, and a short shifter in it.
It ran great, real smooth,so hopefully all works out tomorrow and I'll be taking it home!

If they were the same condition, I think I'd take an '07 w/ 95k over an '04 w/ 60k at the same price. 3 model years newer vs 1-2 years worth of extra mileage. Also there's a chance the '07 isn't silver or black...
They also made small continual changes. Stronger diff, different trans internals to reduce shift effort, newer engine/PCM, redesigned steering wheel buttons, less ugly antenna, etc. Nothing that's a deal breaker, I wouldn't take a POS '06-07 because of them. But if everything else is basically the same...
