If all goes well, I'm going to try to add the Tick spacer this weekend. Stay tuned for photos, measurements, and results.

I feel like Betty Crocker waiting for this flywheel to be "done".

Ok Fast, here is a sure fire test.

Put it all back together except for the main disc.

If you still have "creep", the pressure plate/2nd disc assy is not right.

That is, if you don't have a slave/master/pedal problem. (LOL?)

My "test plan" is to have my friend sit in the car with the clutch dis-engaged (but in gear) and see if I can turn the transmission output shaft by hand.

This is before I re install the exhaust or drive shaft.

I do not expect to have any binding either doggone it.

Haha that's a good idea. So can you install the ls9 with only the captured disk? Won't that create metal on metal between the flywheel and pressure plate?

You will probably F the straps up on the floater if you do that. It would not be a good idea to do that.

I think without the disc, there is too much space for the two to rub.

Also, if you just do it by hand and it binds, there is no reason to apply power.

Shouldn't the captured disc not spin in the PP because the slave is not pressing down on the fingers, so the clutch should be grabbing.

Yes, but what I meant was:

With only the pressure plate and captured disc installed, pushing on the clutch pedal (while in gear) should release enough tension pressure so you should be able to rotate the transmission output by hand.

If you can't, then applying power isn't going to make it any better, and I would assume there is a problem with the pressure plate/captured disc binding.

I pulled off the flywheel and it looks good. But I received new bolts from Jason at katech and compared them to the old pressure plate and flywheel bolts that came out. Turns out the new flywheel bolts are about .25im shorter then my orginal bolts! I really hope this is my issue and the bolts were bottoming out before fully torquing the flywheel down...

Good luck.

Sounds like it might make the difference.

You have to go through the heating process again, but I would have thought you would have noticed the bolts bottoming out before the flywheel would seat.

0.250 is a lot.

I didn't install it the first time around, a mechanic did... Last time I let that happen.

And if you don't do the heating process? Testing in progress

On mine, the flywheel binds on the center if not heated.

If you don't heat and install, the warranty is void.

Might be a dumb ?, but why did your installer use the OEM bolts?

My LS9 clutch kit came with all new bolts.
