I think there is a little too much retro love out there. Celebrate the new designs and let them make their own history.

I think the Direct injection is going to be the biggest limit. From what i read the way the systems work best is when the injectors work at almost all their capacity, so they design around that. So there may not be much fuel overhead stock. I am sure there will be aftermarket injectors soon after launch, but i image there will be an added cost with that.
But in all honesty 450-500hp in a car that weighs ~3500 lb shouldn't be too bad.

Seems like they put more emphasis on reducing emissions and improving MPG's with the new LT1 rather than more GO POWA!
VVT and DOD are cool and all but I want more displacement! just sayin...

Heck if i can get the same power and better gas mileage it is that much more money that i can spend on other mods. (that bring it right back down...)

There was talks that they were going to cut displacement something in the 4.X range, so the fact that the new Vette is getting a 6.2L is GREAT. The fact is these days if they can't get fuel economy out of it, they will not produce it. I think there will be plenty of power to be had here (make sure to read the latest Hot Rod magazine for a good summary of the engine) At some point in time the Go power for a stock car doesn't need to be higher (in-fact i am glad to see GM addressing the bigger issue overall weight of the car)

I'm guessing S/C 3.6. I was at a CTS-V event last month in Austin and the insiders said not to expect what we all expect for the ATS-V (turbo 3.6). Could be a V8 but for some reason I didn't get that sense.
