Grab your bumper cover and see how much it moves when you lift it up. You can also see the hood gap close when you lift the bumper cover. The brace just holds the bumper cover up to close the hood gap and keep it from moving.

Amsoil during track season; whatever synthetic is on sale during the off-season. Filters vary - ACDelco is on it now, but I bought a Bosch Premium at the same time I bought the ACDelco, and I've used Mobil1 and K&N filters in the past. I use filters listed for the Northstar, as they're bigger (taller) than the filters listed for the LS6.
That those are longer and fit the v

I'm not on Facebook, so I didn't see the comments, but were they concerned about the safety implications of replacing the crash brace with an unqualified piece of hardware?

In fact I said if you're on the fence about buying the real one just do it because it works that well! I only built mine because I had 2 sheets of 6061 in my garage that I need to find a use for.
Here is a pic of the real one. Mine does the same thing just made a little different and with no holes cut in it.

I found that my current setup with -2F/-2.3R is a bit too aggressive for the street and even the track. The contact patch with 275's all around isn't being utilized to the fullest and straight line traction suffers immensely. I'm going to raise my front up a smidge and when I put the 295's on the rear I'll adjust accordingly also to get it set to around -1.5F/-1.8R camber.

No and the crash brace is not replaced. All it is is a piece of .060 6061 that sits on the crash brace and lifts the plastic bumper cover. You can see the plate sitting on the crash bar in my pic. One guy was seriously offended that I built my own. Said I was stealing other people's ideas and not supporting people that support the V1 blah blah blah. Just a buch of childish ****. I never once gave a single measurement or really any details. Just the same stuff I posted in this thread.

It would be nice if this "brace" also came with headlight provisions too so that the whole fascia can be lifted up to eliminate the sag and gaps.
I'm most likely going to make my own out of ABS and notched in such a way that it won't have any impact on the crash bar integrity. There is really no need for these to be metal.
