Default HID Replacements

Does anyone know the best place to buy the replacement bulbs from? I would like to know if I could just put in some 10k or do I need to buy a hole new kit. I know nothing when it comes to lighting. So any advance will be helpfull.

Would the dealer charge you if you just took it in?

One of mine was flickering and they replaced the whole assembly. Then I commented how one looks new and the others all faded out so they replaced the other entire assembly too. Marked it as "faded" on the paperwork.

Both of my lights work fine. I just want to install brighter lights. I know the stocks are around 4300k, and i want 10,000k. Just wondering if I can buy replacement bulbs and install or do I need to do something different.

I have a 2006 GTO and purchased my headlights from Hoen. Price was fair, shipping quick and product good. You can find them at http://www.hoen-usa.com/

With HID lighting the higher the color temperature (i.e. 4300K, 5000K,10000K) doesn't mean brighter light. It's actually the opposite. The higher the color temperature the lower the brightness. The K stands for Kelvin and is the rating for the color temperature. Brightness is measured in Lumens.

Check out

www.sharphid.com he is really great with HIDs name is John Sharp. I have them in my volvo 6000k 50 watt HID kit very very bright. The caddy is a 4300k 35 watt system. So you could buy 5k, 6, 8k, 35 watt kit bulbs. 6k is perfect for me white with a hint of blue .

You should keep what you have if you're trying to go brighter since 4300k is the brightest you're going to get.

Not if you get a kit that can plug into OEM harness and gives you 50watts of power.. I promise my HIDs will make your caddy HIDs look like a flashlight.

Well naturally but if he's just looking at buying new bulbs he's not going to. If he wants to go buy a new kit then sure he can get brighter. And I could care less if yours are brigher. I could go out and buy a 50 watt 4300k kit and then I'd be brighter than you. I'm sure yours look incredible, but I was under the impression he didn't want to get a new kit, just bulbs, hence my comment. I'm more than satisfied with the kit I got for my SS.

I think I am going to go with the 8k bulbs. I like the blue look. That is what I want. Thanks for all the information.

We have D2S bulbs in our V's. D2R bulbs are for OEM HID lamps using reflectors instead or projectors.
