Default Cts-V getting stripped naked....

Cts-V getting stripped naked tomorrow.
all emblems, stickers, badges are comming off.
and i'm getting blacked out lenses (fogs/running lamps, side signals, and rear lenses) and also badges in center of crest will be blacked out
for a "one of a kind" look that will make more people wonder "what kind of car
is that"...the only thing that will imply caddy is the wreath and badge,(FRONT AND REAR) other than the obvious ls2 rumble...untill turbos that is...

i got the idea when i seen an M5 (my friends), with all badges stripped...
car looks amazing!

will look like envy's car minus the emblems...and blacked out badges/crest in picure

Cruise 'round the town with a few strippers to celebrate the new look, and of course post plenty o pics-of the ladies that is. ,,, and now you know why Black Raven is the only color for a V.

onebad...ur right as far as the fully blck theme goes...but i swore off black
after jail....lol jk! i've owned a few black cars (2 g/n's a 5.0 lx and an ford exp.) and
never again!...nuthing looks better clean, but keeping it that way is to hard on my
OCD. but i think i can pull off this look...we'll see 2morrow fo' sho'.

murderedv he said he uses a heat gun to remove the emblems and a chemical to remove residue...not suttin i wanna tackle in the garage...they do it all day every day...
thats all i need to know. not my cup of joe.

You can just use a hairdryer to get the adhesive hot and then just pull slightly. Some run a peice of fishing line behind the emblems to help separate the adhesive. And once the emblem is gone just use some kind of solvent (rubbing alcohol, carb cleaner, paint stripper) to get the extra gunk off. Then just wash the area good so the solvent doesn't sit on the paint and **** that up.

they come off pretty easy, grab some fishing line and go under the emblem, from there, goo gone or 3m adhesive remover, then a little polish and your all good.

edit: beat me to it jon

Does the fish line keep the emblem in good shape? I tried a heat gun and a spatula to remove one of my SS fender emblems and I couldnt save the emblem.

Seems like the V emblems would be more sturdy than the SS emblems. Cleaning the tape/glue off the back might be a pain, but it should be savable.

easily saveable...I still have the cts emblem sitting in my spare tire well...if I can save that, you can clean the crap off the V.

I used the heat gun, fishing line, goo-b-gone method for the CTS emblem. Took maybe 5 minutes tops and the emblem is fine. Just do it yourself.

Should look good. I hope to have some stuff done to mine in the next few weeks. Powdercoating rims and the black chrome badges. Post up pictures when you are done.

1. I thought you were selling it?
2. You better paint the emblems.....Like my pic you have.....The leafing is actually easy to paint, paint and whipe....
3. Have you seen pics of my flat black theme I had? YOu need that for sure....

I know the flat black stripes aren't for everyone but I always wanted to see a silver one with my old scheme. They didn't pop on the black paint, you really couldn't tell until you got really close to the car. But on a Silver car, it would be sick....just an idea

i'm torn on the "rims" situation...our silver cars look good with the stockers as they are same color as car and calipers...i want to do either chrome and leave the existing chrome front trim/ mesh grill alone....
or gloss black and black out said pieces...
or maybe just widen stockers an inch in the rear and leave the rest alone...
???
thats why i love this car, it will always look good no matter what u do to it...
it's got great lines!
