I doubt you'll find anyone selling used MM's. Max at Creative Steel is who you wanna talk to. Not sure about here, but on the other forum his user name is MotorMounts. Look him up. You won't regret it.

I saw some UUC "yellow ones" listed previously. Anybody have any input on them or have some for sale?

I read nothing but bad stuff about UUC's when I was looking into new MMs. IIRC, they're too stiff for a DD.

i have the UUC, and they are amazing. i have heard nothing bad about CS. in fact the shop that did my mounts told me not to get CS because 3 sets they have put on cars have melted (with the shields). one set with less then 500 miles on the set, and the other 2 with less then a thousand. one of them was on their second set within 2000 miles.

Well....hum. Guess I will just see if either comes available.

Does UUC make them anymore. I didn't see any reference to them on their site?

Thanks, Cole.

Well hell...what to do?

The UUC may be to stiff, key word may. I have read no negatives in this site.

However, the CS ones apparently have a melting problem.

I definitely don't want to do this twice...once and done. Any other input?

Max (creative steel) did have some heat issues with previous models of his mounts, but that's all been figured out now. I am telling you this first hand, since I had a set of gray mounts from him, and I did have some heat issues with them. He was a pleasure to deal with and made things right by providing me with his updated mounts as well as updated heat shields. I also wrapped the new ones in header wrap just for the heck of it.
Max will explain the issues and why they happened if you ask him. Basically there are 3 versions of mounts. The first got feedback that they were too hard and transferred too much vibration. The second (gray) ones were softer but ended up having those heat issues (not only due to the material, but also because themheat shields were inadequate). Max later learned that the vibes from the first mounts were actually the fault of his transmission mounts that were too hard, so the 3rd version of motor mounts are actually the same as the first ones, but now come with much beefier heat shields. Version 3 is what I have and I'm very happy with them.

wes is right the Version 3 are better then previous mounts. my UUCs feel like stock, but they handle hard revs like a champ.

i think either way you will be good either way, but for me, i went with UUC because that what the shop recommended. and since they have done mounts (both CS and UUC) i trust their word. and it was before the 3 came out. but with the history, i dont know if i can trust the CS mounts for extended periods of time. the shop for mine have some car that have A LOT of miles on the UUC with no issue.

I appreciate all of the input.

I already have a CS "new gray" tranny mount and that helped with the slop immensely. Anything thing worry about when combining the two manuf?
