The 6.2 is just like any other LS engine, they run hard and spin RPM. Only down side to a LS3 is the heads do have heavier valves, but that will not hold them back with the right springs.

the ct525 is a carbed ls3. It has hollow intake valves so they are lighter than the l92's. They make 560 hp@6500 and 490ftlb@5350 on pump gas so ya they are a good motor with a carb and the proper cam. The ls376/515 is the same and makes the same power. The fi engine runs a smaller cam and makes less hp but about the same torque.

GM lists a higher max RPM for the 6.2L motors than it does for any of the smaller displacement motors.

The only motor with a higher factory RPM rating is the LS7 7.0L motor.

Let us know how you make out. I bet it can get down around the 12.50 mark at around 112, if your chassis can hook it up, and your geared properly
Good luck

The pistons are hyper utectic (hyper explosive). They will not tolerate any detonation at all. If your tune is good then the pistons are great but if you run to much timing or lean it out to much with crappy fuel then you will usually lift the top of the piston off. BTW no one makes a direct replacement forging. Victory racing engines has some that have a 10 cc dish instead of being a flat top. So if you want to get direct replacement forgings you have to get them custom made.
Our experience with these have let us know that 92 octane fuel and 28 deg timing is right on the edge of deto with these engines. So less timing or better fuel is the answer. Bets power is at 31 deg but not alot is gained from 28 to 31.
