Take just a few minutes to swap out an intake. Do them both at the track on the same day!

Please do. Would be very cool to see the results from the same track on the same day!

The spacer test is up first. Then, perhaps when it cools down we can do the intake. I don't know about back to back swap at the track. I am not fond of wrenching on a hot motor. However, my car is crazy consistent. It runs mid to high 7.40s every trip so far at about 92 to 92.5 MPH. So, the differences in intake manifold performance will be pretty obvious.

The Vic, JR was too tall to fit under my hood, hope you don't suffer that problem. If it won't fit, please test without the hood for both manifolds...

I have been told that the Victor Jr is 1/2" taller than the Performer RPM. If this is the case, it will fit.

I'd love to see this too.
I'm sure the vic jr will require a jet change or 2, and probably some more squirter

I sent my carb back to Pro Systems for some love. When it comes back I am gonna do the spacer test first on the dual plane, then I will swap manifolds and see what we get.

since you're going to be doing the manifold testing on different days, be sure to get ALL the weather conditions. including any head/tail winds, DA, sunny or cloudy, etc etc

We can use the D/A website for that.

da tells alot, but make sure you take wind speed/direction measurements, and track surface temps too. all this plays a role.

might be easier to just swap the intake at the track

I think you are confusing me with a scientist or an Edelbrock employee.

I am gonna install the intake, jet it til' it runs the fastest and compare it to my old times and D/A. After that, I will decide if I leave the Victor on or put the Performer back on.

I know it will 60' slower and probably MPH better. How much of each remains to be seen.

If you can get hold of one...would very much like to see a 1" open spacer on the RPM intake. Old Hot Rod magazine dyno tests showed very good results on this intake. Don't know what RPM you are crossing the line at?...guessing 4600-4800RPM. At 3700 LBS race weight...I predict quicker and faster with the Edelbrock RPM.

I go through at about 5800 in the 1/4. There is no room for a 1". All tests with be with 1/2' varieties.

Sorry...from your previous post, I was under the impression we were talking about 1/8 mile times and testing. You might see a slight improvement in MPH on the quarter mile, but at 3700LBS race weight, I think I will still keep my money on the dual plane.

It will be 1/8 mile testing. I just never looked at my RPM in the 1/8th, but mathematically it should be about 4700. My money is on the dual plane too. But the test will be fun.
