Default which carb jets should i start with

parts are piling up and i'm starting to look into the smaller things. this is my first carb setup to touch EVER aside from my weed whacker :noob:

the setup:
stock bottom LS2
TEA Trick-Flow 225 heads (61cc)
1 7/8 longtubes
236/242 .112/.112 110LSA 106 ICL
vic Jr intake
Holley 750 DP

what is a good safe starting point?

I would try 72/76 jets or so...just run the stock jets and go from there...check the database in the stickies there is a lot of good info in there...

I dont know what the stock jets were...i got the carb used but freshly rebuilt.

awesome link. thanks. my PN is 4779-2 so it says 122-70 primary and 122-80 secondary. what does the 122 mean? sound like it will work? i figured this head/cam setup would require a little more fuel to richen it back up. like i said, new to carbs

70 and 80 are the jet sizes

awesome. i'll probably start on the street to get it close, then really work the suspension/timing at the track. that is if i can get the motivation to start wrenching in this heat. it's hot as ***** outside. i dont have all of the parts yet either.

If you don't mind throwing down a little cash, the Holley HP mainbody is a nice addition to your carb. It comes with jets and has the tuneable air bleeds.

is this what you're talking about? if so it may be what i have....i need to learn more about this carb that i have. i'll post numbers and pictures later. maybe you guys can help me figure out if i got something worth a crap or not.

Yeah thats what I what i was talking about. I liked how mine ran after adding that to my 4779-9 carb. I read somewhere that it increases the flow to around 780. The jets it came with were pretty close for my cam only 6.0, but I tried 2 sizes bigger and it seemed to like it.

That motor is going to eat that carb. Might want to look into an 850..

750 street is fine, but of he wants max power, a larger pure may do, we have seen 6.0 built lose time with a swap from a 750 to a larger piece, Matt in his third gen can tell you, every combo has its wants and needs.

maybe one day i can find a 850 to test before comitting to anything. as for now, the 750 will get it up and running

ok, here's the best picture that i have of my carb. it looks like the picture in the link above. do i already have the holley HP main body???


I still havent opened the carb to see what jets are in there. it's getting close to starting time though.

That looks like a stock main body with a milled choke horn.

damn i really should have stuck with EFI and HPtuners. i dont even have a fuggin clue what a choke horn is

i will get some better pics for you guys. whoever milled off the choke horn did an excellent job. it looks like a factory mold.
