That's called slipping the clutch. It is all I could do to break out of a 2.0 60 foot, everything else would launch and then unload the rear tires. Which is aggravating. And all my shifts hit the rev limiter, I hold the gas to the floor. That pass was a hot lap, and the master being so close to the header is not exactly friendly, it is causing the shifter to be forced I to gear after abusing the truck. As I expected it would. Need to wrap the header.

That's not bad at all, Zane. I just did the Wallace calculator and that's a 13.0 to 13.10 in the 1/4. An easy 12 sec truck with traction .

Yea, that's exactly what I was thinking. Not sure if I am dead set in locking in a better ET. Maybe if I get a wild hair I might try. For now I'm satisfied. I wanted to think it was on my 5.3 TAs heals, not too far off. But the extra cubes of the TA shines. It traps 91 or 92 and went 7.7 with no tuning compared to the 4.8 truck.

Well, you put this thing together for fuel mileage not ball blasting runs.... Now drive it like a granny and report back some fuel mileage results...

That's the plan. Just leaned out idle and primary jetting. Still need to use the wire trick for the low speed bleeds.

Thanks man, it is faster than I expected it to be, but I'm surprised it doesn't trap faster. If it would run a 7.9 with a 1.6 60 and trap 84, it would be strange. My TA hit 7.7 at 91, but was a 1.77 60.

Yea, I'll keep an eye out for some shocks, but I'm geared towards getting a 4l80 for the mustang right now.

Are you gonna rebuild the 4l80 before you use it if its good? I have a stock one with 90,000 miles that im gonna use. It works good but im hoping my new motor will be 500hp and im wondering how long it would live with a 3500 stall.

No, I may do a shift kit because they are cheap. My 198k mile 4L80 in my 86 TA is running fine behind the cammed 5.3 liter. Doesn't skip a beat and it is probably a touch over 400hp.

Cool. Im gonna do the same and see how long it lives. Ive just read that some of the controllers dont work perfect with a worn tranny. What controller are you thinking of using or are you gonna go manual valve body? They aint cheap either.

I was debating that unit or the FAST. Knowing my cheap *** it'll be which ever one is cheaper. Ive read positive things on both.

For the mustang I'll be using a jakes controller that makes you shift manually but keeps the line pressure where it needs to be.

My TA and 94 solid breads used the FAST EZ TCU. Works fantastic on both, even the 198 k mile 80.

Txsilverado is using the older piece not the new one you can tune yourself like I have. Mine will control a 60,65,70,80,85 and a TCI 6 speed auto and all the changes done with the handheld that come with it.

So with the Jakes its gonna go into whatever gear you put it in no matter what rpm. So if your in 4th gear at a red light, its in 4th gear when you try to pull out, right?
