I made some caltracs for my s15. I can get some pics if anyones interested.

I used 1" .090 wall chromoly with 3/8 plate that went through the leaf spring bolts and welded to the axle bottom mount under the leaf. I turned down some shaft and drilled and tapped it and slid it inside the chromoly then welded it up. They look great and work awesome so far!

sorry to hijack a bit here but I can get some pics tomorrow for people...

Yup, I'm going to have to tune some more, didn't do that on the dyno so clearly the placement of the o2 or real world driving are not on line with the dyno tune. Maybe it will be better when I put the air cleaner on for all I know.

Anyway, here is a video of running through the gears. Took a friend for a ride and figured I would record it:

This was with 235/50/15s, I am wondering if I'll notice much difference with the taller 275/60/15 radials that will be going on?

In search of a 15x8 with a 6.5 back spacing for the rear right now as well.

So far I have only found a race star. And I'm not buying a set of those.

I don't blame you. so many of these wheel sets are just WAY overpriced...

Yup, I know I can go to a 17 inch wheel, that will probably fit perfect, but I will need to have these axles drilled, or new axles. Either way that's a bunch of money I'm not going to spend on this thing any time soon. The mustang needs me to set some cash aside.

15x8 with 7.5 bs would guarantee a tucked tire. 15x10 with 7.5 bs sits just BARELY outside of flush on a 1st gen and tucks on a 2nd gen with an uncut 8.8

what exactly are you trying to do?

here, a 15x9 at 7.5 bs should completely tuck a 1st gen on a 275/60-15 on a full width 8.8 rear end.

You know that would stick out the same but just go in one more inch right? Lol

I might see if I can get the axles drilled and her some 17x9 ZR1s.

Ive got a full width + c clip eliminators explorer 8.8 so it adds roughly 2 inches to the width. I just bolted it in tonight and im going to run 15x10 with 7.25 bs race stars with a 325/50/15 tire. The tire will stick out 3" from the bed to the edge of the sidewall! I wanted a 15x10 8.5 bs but they dont make it. Fyi 15x10 7.25 bs still has about 3" room between the rim and bump stop.

everyone said the rear would only be roughly 3" wider so I ordered 4.5 bs and wow they are horrible!

Yup, guys at the s10 forum said 4 inches, well, they need to learn how to use a measuring tape. Mine is a hair over 5 inches wider.

I would think that is because of the disc brake package. The drum brake setup (so I have read) only requires a short side axle and 3 inch narrowing of the long side and it is the same width as the stock s-10 rear end. You have to change spring pad locations as well if I understood right.

Yup, read all that. But went the route I did because I assumed I could make the wheels I have work and sit flush and not stick out.

Mine ended up about 9" wider overall than my stock rear end! I think I was confused by the measurements given for a 4x4 s10 because they are wider rears than a 2wd?

9? That doesn't sound right at all, sounds like you got a full size rear. Lol
