Hey guys, my name is Jason. This Is my engine that LeeLuther252 posted. So I was about 2 seconds away from just ordering the mast intake when I said screw it! Took the ole trusty dremel to the heads and the intake! Fits good now but I'm still pissed about the whole thing! especially when Edelbrock keeps telling me that they have not heard anything about this issue!

Hopefully it is simple as that and the ports line up.

They seem to line up pretty nice... about as good as a mass produced non ported cast intake will be imo. I'll try to get some pics tonight.

Cannot say I would have a issue grinding that small area down VS buying a mast piece.

I jumped the gun guys.. after the first guy posted his didn't fit I just mocked mine up with no head gaskets and it hit. I stuck my .040" gaskets on tonight and just snugged them down and it fits fine

Im running .051" head gaskets so I should be fine then. Your heads are milled too right?

So now it just bolts on fine?

Well, that makes most of this topic null and void all of a sudden.

I was able to snap a quick couple pics.

My heads are cut .030", block is NOT decked. this is with .040" cometic head gasket in place but Not torqued down, only snugged. I don't have Intake O Rings yet though, so Intake sitting direct to heads.

Ordered mine through jegs and they over nighted direct from edelbrock. Here's the best shots I could get off the runners. Intake isn't torqued down yet.

That looks pretty close. Once you bolt it down, it looks like there will be very little to match port.

Doubt there would be this sort of issue with bolting on a Mast intake.
You must be new to the race world..bolt on 75% of the time means may need some work..

With intakes many things come into play that change things up..milled heads, deck heights, head gasket thickness..I got a hi ram on cath port heads..the super Vic on it before dropped on an fit great..hi ram needed the edges angle milled to work with the milled heads..it sat much like the pics posted in this thread..for my moroso pan to work on my one engine I had to trim the stock windage tray an then notch another part for the pick up to work..its just how things are in this game.

Actually no, I am not new to anything when it comes to racing, you however might be a newb to the world of custom manufacturing, who knows.

I've fitted more intakes than I could possibly remember, even the more unknown one off customs have always fitted up to the cylinder heads they were designed to fit.

This is poor form from Edelbrock to have not triple checked everything and mocked up the prototype to a typical stock LS3, you know.. the engine they specifically designed it for? And besides which the majority have standard or only 20-30 thou removed off heads generally. We aren't talking some sheet metal intake on a pro stock engine here.
