Default ideas for max effort 5.3

pretty sure its gonna be bored to at least 5.7 cubes with slightly domed pistons, but ideas on cam? This is a strip only car and will be NA, so any input appreciated. I will be building this for a buddy to put in Skinnies old car. Mike Lough has some ideas and we are just looking for cam input from the experts. Max power is the only concern. Maximum et is good too.

This should be interesting. Making a small bore run hard N/A is definitely a tougher way to go, but should be interesting.

Dropped off parts at Machine shop Sunday. Going to be bored to oversized 5.7 bore with wiseco pistons, new valve springs, head work, custom cam spec'd. he told them race gas could be used just fine. So not sure where compression is going to be, but it should be up there.

A high compression 5.7 done right. This will be fun. What is it going in?

cam only ls1/t56 cars have been 10.0/9.9, so i'd guess if the combo is setup up well in a light chassis, it could run pretty hard.

Its going in Skinnies old RX7. its plenty light. Its been kind of stripped down and lots of stuff fixed more for looks and safety. But it has the suspension there to work i think.

just a question why did you do a iron block 5.7 instead of aluminum for less weight?

Small bore is tough because the intake valve is shrouded. Need a small valve and get the valve away from the cylinder wall. Also need to get the intake valve open pretty fast.
