I just ordered a Wilwood manual master cylinder. I am ditching the power brake booster. My vacuum levels are borderline and in certain driving situations, I get a hard pedal.
how old are the tires you have? how many street miles are on them?
About 5 years old and say maybe 1500 miles, always garaged, on wood, with about 60 passes.

With the rear shocks are they a rebound only adjustment type deal?
The new MT bracket radials might be worth a look at if the track is ordinary.
Shocks are CE 3 ways on front at 90/10 (also go 70/30 and 50/50 ?)
Rears are Rancho 5 ways with just 1 ****, set on 1 right now....sold by Caltracs at that time (unsure on whats what for the settings other than 1 is soft, 5 is hard)

A couple other things:
*There is a date code on the tires. Find that and see how old they are.
*Super loose shock settings are typically for slower cars as are the old 90/10 shocks. Faster cars more often like tighter shock settings. My car likes the rear shocks 2/3 of the way to full tight on the extension to work best. My front shocks are full tight on the extension. So, try some tighter settings on your rear shocks and see if it likes it. Also, you might get some fully adjustable front shocks and try tighter settings.
I really would like the Vikings....one day
Going to try 70/30 front and #3 rear next time out.
Car never hit the tires this hard before. I had a few times out where it was hit and miss before (old motor), but never a MISS EVERY PASS.
The converter was built for nitrous (told them a 150 hit max, basically nothing too bad/big).
Pretty confident some 1.4's "could be" had IF I can get the bitch to hook. Pulled hard once the tires bite.
crank shocks up to 5, and get a new pair of tires. i only go 1 season on tires. most "career test and tuners" (the guys that only tnt, never actually race, and are only there a few times a year) get 2. 5 years is too old. they've dried up.

Found this on Calvert Racing site....They now sell 9-way Vs. the 5-way they used to (I have the 5-ways)
Fine tuning your CR Series Shocks Tips Street Driving - Adjust your CR shocks to fit your preference, usually gives you best comfort between settings 2-5. Foot Brake (RACE) - Firmer settings are typical, usually between 6-9. Trans Brake (RACE) - Softer settings are typical, usually between 1-3 * The provided tips are provided for a starting baseline, experimentation is always encouraged to get the most performance out of our shocks.
A little weight loss for the Lark tonight. The booster master combo weighed #21. The Wilwood, #3.5. The aluminum radiator and fabricated top plate is #9 pounds lighter than the copper rad and factory top plate. So, about #27 off of the front of the car. Also, the additional room on the driver's side of the engine is glorious.
That looks really good. I already have manual brakes, but often thought of switching to the Wilwood master. Unfortunately my car mostly sits these days so maybe after I'm done with some other projects and have it on the road again.
One thing that your picture reminded me of that I also want to do:
Install a collapsible steering column section. Have you seen any pictures of an old car like ours (pre-69 or so for GM) where the column has been shoved back and up in a wreck? Super scary stuff. There is a picture floating around of a '65 Chevelle that probably decapitated the driver.
Built this rear over the winter. Finally got my control arms and got it in the car.
Fox body 8.8
moser 31 spline axles
Ford racing trac-lok
Lightened Richmond 3.55's
Trick chassis adjustable uppers and lowers
trick chassis instant center brackets
only put about 20 miles on it so far but it deffinatly feels better and drives tighter than it did with the old stamped control arms and hammered 7.5" 10 bolt. Lost my sway bar though. ARB is next.
Ran the SS at the 1/8th mile. Stock was 9.0 at 81 on 315 street radials. 4.30 8.8 swap, suspension and the 8 year old(maybe 9?) ET streets(still dead hooking, lol) went 8.6 at 80 MPH. Did not launch like I wanted to, worrying about breaking. But the knock sensors are bad and I am wondering how much is left. I'm trapping 3 MPH less than typical, so it may be plenty left in it before tune and headers/exhaust.

Thats a happy thought.

ignore the paint on the muffler/tank :/
Now you can drop the hammer without worry.

Put a bigger carb on it.

Lol, not sure if I will ever carb a factory EFI LS car. If I didn't have the mustang, I would have a 93-95 Z with LS front end and LS swap with a carb and cut up cowl.
So, I just started watching Street Outlaws. I had resisted in until now because of all the other lousy racing shows like Pinks. I have to say, it is great fun! I like it.

I watch that show just for the entertainment value and nonsense.....
