Neanderthal Carb Guy BS Thread

I like the "bare bones" exhaust.
My car has the Flowmaster American Thunder kit at 2.5" w/ the Delta 40's. I ran the car with the full exhaust, just the H-pipe w/ no muffs or tails, and open headers...
The car picked up only around .8 w/o muffs/tails, and around .15 on open headers.(guessing mostly due to weight)
Looked at 3" kits, but could buy a Pypes X-pipe and sortta "copy" this design pretty easy

But did you get the car fixed yet?

parts are at the machine shop. expensive parts dont fit like they should, so i have to spend more money modifying ARH headers to fit. angle milling a header flange is apparently harder than i expected.
sometimes i wonder if i like tearing them apart and putting them back together more than i enjoy driving them. i have good stainless 1 7/8 headers that i can throw back on the car and drive...but instead i'm spending too much trying to make a 2" primary 3.5 exhaust work.

This is too funny.....http://www.streetmusclemag.com/featu...h-cpr-engines/
I do not see it being cost effective, any better in design, or producing more HP/TQ than a same built LS1.
I think the LS is better in design and will support the power better/longer than the mutt build.
Thoughts ?

almost 700hp but I look at something like your 403" and I would think your would be cheaper and more reliable to build.
I also don't understand him saying "fits where a LS won't" unless he means due to class rules.

Sssoooo.... when pulling my trans today, I had to remove a header.
Now in doing so I had to pull my plug wires....WTF ??? #6 wire was on the plug, but not clipped on ....I know I checked some plugs a while back....but don't remember how long ago Could this be why last time out my ET was off (.2 60'.....2-.3 660'.... .1-.4 1320') Who knows.
Anywho, pulled trans and eeeewwwww , more metal than my paint....yes, it was time.
Goes into the shop next week.
Good day to pull it too....was 77*, so it was done in the driveway....small mess.
