302 outa 69 camaro
I have a 302 outa a 69 camaro in my 1990 formula and i just recently found this out because i ran the numbers on the block and i no that these motors are veary veary rare. And i was wondering how much this engine is worth and this motor runs realy good too i drive this car everyday. And im thinking about selling the engine in the car or takeing it out and selling it and puting a 350 that i have in the car and selling it like that. So if anybody knows how much i could sell this engine for the please let me no.

So it is a DZ302 out of a 69 Camaro ? That is a rare motor. Not all 69 z-28 had that motor. It should have the vin# stamped on the pad on the front of the left hand side of the block.See if you can match that # to the car it came out of if so find the owner and see if he wants to buy the motor if not find someone w/a 69 z-28 to buy it.

Block Numbers only tell half the story. Build date and the all important DZ stamp under the Alternator is what tells the real deal . 302 blocks also share the same casting with 327 and 350 they made the 010 block for a very long time this would be my guess of what you have i think 386 and 618 are the others. without the Dz Stamp and the correct date the casting number is not as important .
302's never had angle plug heads, angle plugs didn't come out on a production SB till the vette in the late 80"s
it was a 140 cam not a 180
Good luck

3991492 casting came on 1970 350 motors and was straight a plug head !! After 1970 casting 3991492 was over the counter at chevy and was offered straight or angled !! Chevy also made a 292 head that was called the turbo head !! Both the 492 and the 292 were the first over the counter head like the bowtie heads available now.
The first angle plug head was the alluminum heads that came on 199X ?? Vette's
