even though I'm a camaro guy through & through...

But I 'll still ask of why not build and put the ls1 in the bird and put the v6 into the camaro to keep as a dd?

I only ask because I went through a v6->ls1 conversion last summer because i didn't want to get rid of my first car and just buy a ls car.

I'm not that overly attatched to the firebird. I like the Trans Am body style more and I'm not a big fan of the W68 package.

its takes patience and confidence to build a car. heck even put its vibe back into it. all i can say i great work man, people ask questions and question why your doing this. all i can say towards that is, its your car and you can do what you want. I think you have a very beautifull car, and the only way to learn, is to do. Great build, very inspiring!

Beautiful job and work on the camaro. Now we need some more pics and current state of completion on your project.

I sold my last firebird and wanted a camaro if I ever wound up in a 4th gen again but wound up getting a smoking deal on a virgin ta in my sig below.
Makes me want to actually drag myself out of the house and out to the shop and get going on mine. I had the will power at 13-17 to go out and work on my first car now at 34 it's motivation to go out and work after doing it all day at work. In my defense I've been ordering parts and I'm waiting to tear it all the way down until every last single box has arrived from ups to speed the tear down to completion time. At least I hope it works that way.

Been awhile since I've updated the thread. I had some problems with the 4.10 rear that I swapped in making a bunch of noise, so that came out for the time being and I put the stock 3.42 back in until I can gather some money over the winter for a 12 bolt or 9 in. Finally got my car dyno tuned, and ended up putting down 435hp and 404 tq. so not so bad.

Will get a dyno video up in a little bit. The car runs so much better since being fully tuned (of course lol) but is an animal now. Hoping to add some cutouts and maybe 1 7/8 headers over the winter.

Thank you, its sure was a long road on the build, but it was worth it. I love the cam, its part throttle torque is awesome for just cruising and it comes alive at around 3200 rpms and peaks at 6400-6500 which is where I'm personally comfortable with shifting a stock shortblock. If I did it again, I might go alittle bigger, but I'm not sure if losing drivability is worth the 5hp lol. But I would recommend it
