just noticed this thread and would like to know all of the other true camaro fans out there. i would say that i am one of the biggest camaro fans out there. i never really had to much money but have owned plenty in the past. let me list them from the first to last.
1980 base model (this one started my streetracing life)
1969 base model (rust bucket tried to restore but way to far gone)
1995 Z28 (started modding it but got hit by drunk driver)
1969 SS (my favoret one ever and i will never get rid of it. i used this one for serious streetracing. went 10.02s in street trim.)
1987 IROC (daily driver for a while. started to mod it but then sold it)
1989 Z28 (bought it wrecked and used it for parts for 87)
1967 base 327 (bought this one really cheap and drove for a while. traded it for 4X4 truck
1967 true L78 one of 1,300 (traded that same 4x4 for this one. unfortuantly due to marrage and shortage of money i had to sell it. but i did get $8,000 for just the bare rusted shell hehe)
1991 RS (got this one in a marrige. yes i did merry her since she like camaros too and i ant getting rid of it eather.)
2002 SS (this is my second favoret one and the one i am currently running. this one put me in the hole money wise and i am still paying on it. hopefully i can hold on to it forever.)
i think that is all the camaros i ever owned. also i have never even considered buying anything else besides 4x4 trucks. there is also the 100s of camaro toys and models i have around the house. i think i am addicted. is there any other True Camaro Fans out there?

1969 Camaro base coupe, 327ci, TH350 (first car). restored from a heap/basketcase
2002 Camaro SS 35th, the best of the last Camaros!
1969 Camaro X55 SS-350, building one of my dream cars now
I've owned 5 f-bodies now. I'm only 31, so I expect that list to be pretty long as I get older![Winky](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_wink.gif)

This is only me 2nd Camaro but I still love them. I bet when you heard that they weren't making Camaros anymore you were devestated. I know I was upset. I just hope that if/when they bring them back they are worthy of the Camaro name.

SSR (looks cool but will never out sell the camaro. and whats up with the aluminum 5.3L. no sence to me)
supercharged ecotech caviler (not any faster then an LS1 and will not sell more eather)
supercharged impala and monte (also pretty cool for my mom to have but come on. it will never out sell)
SS truck (a very cool looking truck but why not make it faster then the lighting or dodge RT hemiwhatever if there going to make it at all.)
GTO (another cool car, but why not just make it a bit lighter, call it a firebird, make a chevy version called a camaro, and make a crap load of V6 models to bring the price down for the V8 models. they have the same drivetrains anyways)
all these reasons get me upset as to why they stop making them. i felt abandon when i heard the news. at first i did not belive it, even in the end, i was waiting to see a special present come off the transporter trucks at work, but it never came. then i was depressed for weeks and bought one of the last ones on the lot. i get mad every time i hear of a new mustang version they are comeing out with. i dont understand why GM gave up to the mustang. so what if they sell more, the camaro has always been a better car and faster too. in matter of fact this guy yesterday was telling me how happy he was to finally get his 01 GT to hit a high 13 NA and a low 12 with spray. i just laughed and felt a little bit better about the camaro. anyways i think it sucks.

This is the list of f-bodies in my family right now as we speak:
Dad - 1994 Camaro Z28 - K&N FIPK/Cutout - 155k miles
Mom - 1994 Trans am - 1.6 rr, shorty headers, 4.10 gears, bmr sway bars, lca's, etc, centerforce clutch, 58mm tb, msd ignition, tons of visual mods - 90k
Brother - 1984 Camaro Z28 - 230/236 cam, ported AFR 190 heads, 6 speed swap, mcleod clutch, forged pistons/rods, 4th gen wheels - 40k on engine
Brother #2 - 1988 Camaro Z28 - Still under works.. thus far roller motor out of a early 90's blazer, 700r4, shorty headers.. going to order a stall shortly - ~175k
In the past 3 years I've had an 85 and my mom had another 94 t/a gt. Some drunk driver ran into the rear of the 94 at like 50mph while it was stopped and totaled it out with 160k on the odometer.. Original engine/tranny.. ran like a top. We ended up getting $6933 for it like a year or two ago.. thats pretty friggin good. My dads car used to be mine, and I've given it complete hell and the engine still runs.. its on a replacement stock high milage transmission now though due to a cracked input sprag.

[QUOTE=SSZSLP] 85 was the first year the IROC-Z was available. It was an option on top of the Z28. In 88 they dropped the Z28 moniker and just gave it the standard IROC-Z until December of 89 when Chevrolet p***ed on the series and handed it over to the Dodge Daytona.
That is why 90 Camaro's aren't very common because they were only a half year of production. The 91's came out early, and with that, came the return of the Z28.
85-87 IROCs will say 'Z28' in the ground effects and on the rear bumper. 88-90 IROCs say 'IROC-Z' in the ground effects and rear bumper. The only thing that says Z28 anywhere on the 88-90's, is on the dash. There is a badge that 'Z28' is large, and under it, it says 'IROC-Z', about half the size.
I'm an IROC freak I guess. It was the first car I truely fell in love with. I spent countless hours researching specs, history, pics, etc about IROCs until I finally got my first car in October of 99 when I was 16.
EDIT: Why won't this thing let me type 'p a s s e d'?

i got the car as a shell with a TPI 350. i am not really sure on the year eather. it was just a parts car and was T-boned. i just took the parts i needed and cut it up. i really hated doing that but there was no hope for this one.

My first car in HS was a 93 Camaro Z28, had it for around 2 years, sold it and then used that money for down payment on my current '01. My husband had a '99 SS, an '86 Camaro that was going to be turned into a full drag car but didn't work out, now has an '88 Camaro that was driveable for a year or so till he decided to sell the motor and trans with dreams of doing an LS1/4L60E swap. So I guess you can say we are Camaro lovers also. Our extra room in our house, where i am sitting right now has Camaro model cars and posters all over the walls. We will always have a Camaro in the family. I still can't believe they (GM) killed it.

My kind of post...
First car was a 78 Z28 ( slow now, but a T/A killer back then
)
2) 1986 Z28 (305 A4 slug)
3) 1989 IROC T5 w/ an L98, no pwr windows/locks, no Ttops, I ordered this car new , cost me approx. 11K..... the car was Black with turquoise blue pinstriping ( remember these Demonspeed?)
also had the silver IROC badging. Can you tell i miss this car!!!
It was so fun to drive, in retrospect i wish i would have kept this one. however, i traded it off for #4.
4) 1993 Z28 A4 LT1 ( steel gray/ green color) Had to have the new body style of the 4th gen. ( pulled an EarnHardt & bounced it off a couple of walls)
5) replaced it with a 1995 Z28 1LE ( White / tan leather)
6) Bought a 1993 Corvette ( does not count)
7) My current 2000 Z28 ( yes, i traded the LT1 for the LS1)
I am currently looking @ a 1981 Z28.. guy is asking $3500.00 for it. It's the Midnight Blue/ light blue scheme.
Great post...
