Alternator Bracket Suggestions?
I'm putting a junkyard ls1 in a G-body with a small turbo.
We want to only run a stock water-pump and alternator, no other accessories. We also want the alternator mounted high, and on either side of the engine.
Any suggestions for brackets that will do this, either factory or aftermarket?
Thanks for any info.

Ooo, very nice.
You must have some LOW hood clearance. The Motovative Performance one puts the alt right at the Fcar oil filler neck height as you can see in my pic. Maybe 1/2 to 1in above the fuel rails/tb tops.
I had the Smokinhawk bracket before, and ya it presented hood clearance issues with me as well, notice how high the alt sits:
Here you can see how insanely high it was with that bracket:

On my LS-1 I made a simple alt only mount using a 3/8 aluminum plate (made a plywood template first). Milled 3/8 from the back of the factory bracket to make up for the thickness of the plate. Bolted to head and block using original bolts. Had to trim alt cooling air hood slightly to clear coil. Contact me if you need pics or info.

Hey Fry Guy, Here is a couple pic of the alternator mounting I came up with:
I am using a truck crank pulley and waterpump, so I needed 3/4" forward offset for the F-body alt mount.
I got this idea from GC99TA's build:

Hope this helps a bit. Good luck!
