Work in progress. Here's what is done so far. 2005 donor GTO ls2 motor and 6 speed trans. Moser 9" rear, Willwood brakes, AirRide - all the good stuff to make this thing fun to drive. Frame was stripped, smoothed, and boxed for strength. Original crossmember was modified to bolt into the newly boxed frame and unbolt easily for removal. Cut transmission tunnel out and flared it out to clear the wider 6-speed transmission. Used a LH8 pan on the motor and it only hangs about 1/2" to 3/4" below the front crossmember. Pictures show the car not totally lowered, but close to cruising height. The motor came with the plates already installed from someone else that was going to start this project, so I'm not sure who the manufacturer is. I was able to get the factory GTO accessory drive to work - a/c was close but fine, and I'll have to fab up a bracket to support the alternator after I moved it in just a bit. I wanted to keep the factory stuff for ease of replacement down the road if something went wrong. Next is the wiring and the fuel system.....

Does anyone know of someone that does a great job modifying the factory wiring harness to work in this retrofit? Also - other than going to someone like Rock Valley for the fuel tank with necessary EFI pump, are there any other 'secret' tips to GM swap tanks that would work?

Looking good man, keep up with the pictures..
Speartech is good but expensive. Wait4meperformance does the same job on wiring harnesses and computer flashing and are a lot cheaper. there is a thread on them look it up.

I can check it out tomorrow, but as info, I rolled the lip on the rear quarters just on the top to give me an extra 1/4" of clearance. I'll still be able to put on the chrome wheel molding.

I've read some bitching (not a whole lot) about wait4me's services, I've never seen anyone griping about Speartech's.
Just my 2c.

Here is the tank I am using. It looks to be very good quality but since my car is not up and running I don't know how well it works. I do like that the pump is in the tank to muffle the sound and keep it cool. I had a inline pump on the frame rail and it was very annoying, even with loud exhaust from the Big Block.
Also I had John at speartech build me a complete custom harness for my LS2/TKO500. The harness is really nice, I could have reworked mine but because it was from and automatic car with the GTO accessory drive instead of the Corvette drive we decided to start from Scratch.
Let me know if you have other questions. as our cars are fairly similar.
Also let me know that you got my Private Message. We talked about a year ago about LS2s in Springfield. I live around 180th and Harrison in Omaha.

Got your message and you actually live really close. Is your car still at the house or did you send it off to the body shop? I'd like to see the work you've done so far in person. I saw some of the comments in your thread about driveline angle and wanted to talk shop if you ever get time.
