and 2500 miles in 36 hours without a single flaw! My 6.0 68 Nova is road worthy and made it from Augusta, Georgia to Hanford, California!!! I want to personally Thank John @ Speartech for the awesome job on the rework of my factory harness almost 2 years ago and the technical support he gave during the marathon week of putting the car together.
It's a long story, they always are..but me, my brother and my awesome friend Tommy Frank Clark of Augusta, Georgia(Master Redneck and Master ASE Certified Mechanicin many many areas) put the car together in one week. That included the running of the wires, the fuel lines, 4 wheel power disc brake conversion, and replacement of all the steering components. We finished the Nova early Sunday morning and I decided the test drive would be one from Augusta to Summit in Atlanta. Car ran absolutely perfect! Only hiccup was a flat due to a rusty rim not being cleaned before the new tires were put on.
2100rpm @ 80 resulted in 18.6 mpg or better that day and the entire 36 hour non-stop fun run to Cali! Thanks to the 80E, 2.73 gears and 225/70 rubber.
As everyone knows there are always a ton more details but I will just post what few pictures I have and answer any questions anyone may have.

LOL..Masking paper was via a good ol Victoria's Secret Magazine! It was the only thing I could find at 10pm.
My wife is from Hanford and I am from Augusta...I met her while Active Duty Navy...Yea..there's nothing here but long...flat roads!
Thanks on the Congrats...It's been a long time coming...I bought the car 9 years ago when I was 16..drove it for a year and then parked it...Hadn't been drove since 2001.
Future plans include, actual LSx Intake and water pump(or drill and move the neck on my current one) have the oil pan rewelded to be shallower for better ground clearance, body work by my brother-in-law Cananna Smith at Lewis Melinich Body Shop in Hanford, Flat black paint with clear coat, 3.73's with a LSD(now that the 2500 highway miles are behind me) and a mile long list of other stuff..but..it's like Goofy said "Slow and Steady wins the race" in some cases anyways. At least now it's not rotting under a pine tree in Georgia and I can get in it and drive it every day!
Just wanna say Thanks again to this site and everyone on it and all the knowledge at our fingertips!

BCZEE, yes, I will be attending my FIRST Good Guys Event, now that I have something worth driving to it! Hopefully, I can have it looking slightly better. But, I'm happy, I can get in it, turn my 3 keys, flick my two switches and hit my button and she fires every single time!(car theft is very high here) The only thing my wife can say is "when is it going to look pretty" and I can't quite get it through to her what exactly took place that week and the fact that it made it 2500 miles non-stop with NO problems.
I got some cleaning up to do with all the wires and such but in due time.
OH! I need a Tuner close to Fresno. I think she's running rich and just wanna get her plugged in and looked at before I do any damage. I've had a couple friends of friends recommended but if anyone here knows anyone I'll take that chance first. If need be, to avoid any "competition" PM me or send the recommendations to victor.lavarnway@comcast.net.
John, I have already recommended you to someone out here with a 5.3 in a 69 C10 the truck looks great and they got EVERYTHING out of a 2001 Silvy when they did the conversion, and I mean everything, when you sit in the truck it's like sitting in a 2001, dash, steering column, seats..everything. It won't fire, every time they hit the key it just turns over kinda goes Vroom and dies.
I told them I think it's the VATS. My 02 HD did the same thing when I had a Viper alarm on it and come to find out the module in the alarm that was suppose to disarm the VATS before the remote start had gone bad.
So, hopefully they will be sending you some more wires.
