Have an issue? I will say the 4l80 has been running like a champ. After ordering 9 months ago, my carbon body panels finally shipped.

Looks sweet . Matt do you have any pictures of where the 4l80 trans harness connector is in the tunnel. I'm putting one in my 69 Camaro and its aweful tight. Beautiful car.

c6matt,
do you think the LS dust shield would be the same as a a4 would use? I am in the need of in and only see it offered with the flexplate and bolt kit

I have to ask though, what are you doing for reverse lights? I am sure it is sacrilegious, but I am probably going with the 67 Tails on my 68 and I like the look without the RS reverse lights. But I have been wondering what to do with the reverse lights?

Just tapping the brakes while backing up with the LED panels I built is plenty of light. never had an issue.

Not sure what you mean. A LS 4l80 dust shield will fit any year 4l80. 4l60 parts will not work. Both are A4 transmissions.

The LS dust shields are a bit hard to come buy. If I see one in a junkyard I always grab it.

I do not as I am traveling for work. It is tight. I used a connector off of a 2500 4x4 truck that the wires exit at a 90* angle to the connector, and it just fit in.

Yea, 4l60 has the one piece bell on the trans, no dust cover like the 4l80.

Saved ~ 100 lbs off the nose with some Anvil pieces. Took 9 monts to arrive, but worth the wait! (weight? LOL)

Nice! Is that the 100% carbon fiber or carbon fiber/fiberglass mix? Does the understructure of the hood clear the supercharger?

What rearend and gear ratio are you running?

Yes, all carbon, and it needed a 4X9 section trimmed on the bottom.

3.73, wish it was a 3.42.

Great thread!

Do you know the distance between the firewall and the passenger/driver side heads? I'm building a 67 with an ls and 4l80, but I want the motor and trans as far back as possible.

94 slow The further back you go the tighter the trans will be in the tunnel. I have about 1-3/4" from the back of the head to the firewall and the trans is pretty tight to get the right drive line angle. I'm just over 3-3.5 degrees down.

That's great info. I may cut/massage a little to get my desired location.

Agreed. about 1.5-2" max. If its apart put in a big block heater core and you will gain firewall clearance.

Guys,
thanks for the info. I'm not putting a heater core back.

Bringing this one back up...

Matt, did you notice a difference between the 1st gear in the 60 vs the 80? I'm hoping it's a non-issue with the supercharger

Better traction and a more usable 1st gear. With the light weight car and this much power I have too much to hook, throttle modulation is key. You'll never miss it. I am thinking about pulling my 3.73 and putting in 3.42...
