Default want deep exhuast note ls1 67 camaro?

hard to get feed back on exhuast sound for ls1 in old car on web sites with sound tracks, any input would be helpfull. All I can find is cars with converters and systems made for newer models(02 camaro). want deep tone, not tinney or raspy, want deep rumble. Thinking magna flow true duals with x. any response would help. like a harley rumble. let me know what you got.

thanks guys

Flow masters are pretty loud lol, ls1s def sound different than traditional small blocks. Personally i love my magnaflow catback. I have longtubes with no cats and a mild cam. I tame at cruising speed but quite loud at wot. Ls1s with a large cam are much louder also so take that into consideration when you buy an exhaust system.

no cats headers and a tsp 228r with 114lsa. This combo will be louder with true duals.

My 240SX has 3" collectors on longtubes that run into a 3" Y-pipe and 3" back to a Magnaflow 3 in dual 2.5 out mufler. It really sounds mean and definitely has a deep tone. Unfortunately I don't have any exhaust vid clips but I get comments on the sound all the time. It is pretty damn loud though when you get on it.

Default exhuast

sounds good, but is that exhuast made for the firebird, I don't know if the header back for 67 camaro is going to be the same note, I would guess not. Does the exhuast run in factory location? see what I'm getting at. If you wanted same sound from your nova when its done what would you go with on it. I'm not stuck on real loud, but want deep tone.

I would go with a pypes system, they utalize a single crossflow muffler behind the rearend. But for now im reusing my flowmasters. Ill post a vid when its done. Theres a few people around with ls1 older cars, ask around im sure you can find a system you enjoy.

Im runing a true-dual set up with a X pipe on my 99 Camaro. I have had 2 different mufflers. My first try was with flowmaster single chambers, love the way it sounded but the mufflers didn't really fit. So I went with a round magnaflow muffler, and it also sounded good. Both gave a nice deep tone with no raspy/tinny sound. Here is a vid of the magnaflow and flowmaster set-up. I will be using one of these on my LS2 69 Camaro.

Magnaflows or UltraFlows will give you the deepest sound, case size will determine how much sound it makes

I like my note, it's deeper than flows but not droning like packed mufflers...flowtech terminators, duals, no cross over

its somewhat quiet compared to many exhausts at part throttle/cruise, gets a lot louder at WOT but still not crazy loud

not really any drone on the highway either, I do long trips in the car so I can't stand exhausts that drone (ie flowmasters)

Mine definitely has a deep, mean sound to it. Nothing tinny or raspy here and not obnoxiously loud either. Magnaflow dual inlet with single outlet.

1970 LS2 Datsun 240z

3" from the shorty headers into a 2.5" x-pipe, into 2.25" underaxle pipes into a Magnaflow muffler, 3" out, all in 409SS

im running dynomax super turbos on my 67 dumped before the axles and it sounds deep. has a good low tone kinda like a much better slowmaster with better flow characteristics and a great price for them too. i really wanna try the new dynomax valved muffler has anyone tried them?

I like the dynomax super turbos best, may not be loud enough for some.I have 2.50 dualls and super turbos with a crossover on my 67 chevelle convt.with an ls1. It is just loud enough to hear and sound good but is not offensive at all,I would describe it as a good muscle car sound,0 raspyness.Loud is cool at first but it gets old in a hurry to me.Magnaflows are great mufflers but the super turbos are a little quieter if thats what you are looking for.

Mine is the magnaflow 2.5" system with the x pipe and pacesetter long tubes. Here is a dyno video on nitrous. It going to be hard to get rid of the ls1 rasp. I like the way mine sounds but maybe you won't.

That the same system I have, but for second gens. I am happy with it. I figured if I ever dont like it I will change the mufflers out for some corsa's. They didnt make individual mufflers when I was looking for an exhaust system.

Only video i have of mine, but its vette c6 mani's to 2.5" true duals, through dynomax superturbo. Very quiet exhaust but sounds deeper than my old 350 buick with dynomax thrush welded's[same as flowmaster 40's]
