Lexus IS300 + LS1 = Drift Machine!
Update: It is running and drifting! I missed my February deadline by several months.
I am in the beginning stages of my track car build. I removed the stock 2JZ engine and 5 speed transmission. I am aquiring the rest of the parts and hope to have it done by the end of February.
The parts list so far:
Engine choice has changed to LS1 and no longer going turbo
T56 out of a 2006 GTO
LS6 intake rails and injectors
GTO oil pan (being shipped right now)
Fbody Driveshaft
A million AN fittings
Fuel pressure regulator
Braided lines
2 walbro intank pumps
Here is how the car sits right now:

My oil pan has been delivered.
I ordered 80lb injectors that should arrive this week.
Now I have a few questions:
1. Should I run the off the shelf cam they used in this month's CarCraft (link below) or go for a custom grind?
5.3 turbo build
2. Keep stock fuel rails or upgrade?
3. Which oil pump are you guys using?
4. Should I clearance the oil pan or hack up the crossmember? I am leaning toward chopping up the crossmember because this is a drift and track car so I need all the oil I can get.
ive had good luck w melling pumps, people also use ported ls6 pumps.
Id vote for a custom grind, takes a little longer and costs a little more but you can tell your grinder exactly what you have and want and youll be happy
aftermarket rails make the AN situation a little easier, since its just regular fittings not weird an/fuel rail fittings (i got mine from russell, didnt need aftermarket rails for my power goals)
I also got an improved racing baffle, but its for fbody pans..

Update: I can't weld so I am having the GTO pan modified and also my crossmember. Hopefully the engine will be in the car soon. I also ordered all the same engine parts that were used in the CarCraft Junkyard 5.3 from this month's issue. I know I am a copycat...
This should be a fun project. If you think out of the box you can shave a lot of money on this project. A used '02-04 Z06 cam is perfect for turbo setups.

LS1 with PRC stage 2.5 LS6 heads, LS6 intake, ported and polished TB, 42 lb injectors, pretty healthy cam, electric waterpump, and the only accessory on the engine is an alternator.
The only things holding me back right now on power is the tune and exhaust. I am running stock manifolds but I am having headers made and the tune was all wrong. It put down 398whp. We were in a rush to get it ready for the event and it was on the dyno with open manifolds at midnight on Friday. With the headers and the right tune I should hopefully be around 450whp.
