I got my LS1/T56, PCM, harness, radiator, cooling fans, clutch pedals and clutch master cylinder, brake booster and master cylinder, and tan leather seats for $2000. All this has 90k miles, so there is deals to be found, just have to be patient. Not to mention that I got the whole rolling crossmember with headers and y pipe attached to the engine.

Here's another option if you are looking to purchase a engine / transmission combination for a swap. This time of the year there are quite a few collisions due to the icy road conditions. Many of the insurance companies sell their received vehicles at auctions such as http://www.iaai.com/ . Some of these auctions are open to the public and a complete vehicle can be had at a fraction of the cost. Additionally, once you pick the needed components, you can sell of the remainder as piece parts or for scrap value...

I used the 1" setback plates from car shop and when I went to drop the motor on to the subframe, it went in like it was meant for that car. I have to say that was awesome since I have heard horror stories about plates not lining up the motor mounts with the frame mounts. I had originally gotten plates by Trans-Dapt from Summit, but when I called them up neither could understand why what was provided would not work nor did they know GM had different style mounts.![Bang Head](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_banghead.gif)

If it's an LS1 from an f-body it should be good, most of what I've read says that is actually the best pan for the swap.

u can use any accessories, truck stuff is easier to find and generally cheaper. just be ready to do some fab, cuz idk if that alt will clear the stock hood on the truck setups. on my ls1 with the fbody access my alternator was hitting the subframe (plastic air duct)
also, the wiring harness is very easy to modify to use in standalone. there are a lot of good writeups on here and other sites. but there are also some pre made systems that are fairly cheap if you look at the grand scheme of things (some stock harnesses will run you around 250-300 sometimes depending on condition and amount of extras it comes with)
if you need any help, shoot me a PM. my swap is done, just waiting on some misc stuff for the suspension to get her drivin
