hi my head gasgket on my v6 is ready to blow up so ive been saving for a ls1 and i want to know is it better to try to find a 98 donor car since ive heard that the 99-02 are different...if theres anybody who has done this swap pease help THANKS!

98-02 engines will work. It's the 98 wiring harness and PCM that's different. Most prefer to get 99+ to dodge dealing with 98's problems.

Wouldn't it be more cost effective to fix and sell your car and then buy the LS1 car whole?

i would like to have this car for as long as i can ive had it for 6 years now and the v6 isnt cutting it... now that my motor is going to hell i figured it would be a nice project if i did the v8 swap.. its only worth like $1000 kbb so this is why i want to do the swap.. i have about $10,000 to do the project or if someone has a trans am or a formula im not big into camaros.. sorry lol
