On my blower the 2 ports you have capped with yellow are for PCV and the brake booster. I use the small one for my HVAC system source. As yours, mine is right at the inlet to the compressor housing. I don,t see why you could not use the one on the PS as well. Mine always starts and idles as a stock NA engine regardless of temp. I think you are on the right track for a vac leak.
If yours has been sitting for a long time the steam would not be alarming due to condensation in the exhaust system. If it does not go away after you reach full operating temps, I would be looking for a problem.

OldGoat, what size injectors are you running? Mine are 850cc (82lb), which was recommended, but that seems big now. Unless the injectors are much better now. So it could be pig rich with the current tune for the stock (42lb?) injectors.

Also, I haven't even let the car warm up and get into closed loop yet.

Pretty sure vacuum ports, ps or ds, are all the same.

You shouldn't even start a car with big injectors without a tune - you can wash the rings out from it being so overly rich...

I have the 42lb that came with the Magnusson kit. I had them sonic cleaned before I ran them. I have never had any issues at all. Some tuners said that I should go bigger to see the real big numbers, but that is not what the car is all about.

Hmmm.....good to know. Thank you. Guess I'll wait to get it tuned before running it anymore. At least I know it runs. Hopefully 30 seconds of running didn't hurt anything.

If that is all you ran it, you should be alright - might wanna pull the plugs and see if they are fouled...

Decided to add a wideband O2 sensor and AFR gauge. Gauges are installed. Definitely need to add the whiteface to the AFR gauge (it came with one). Just need to weld the O2 bung to the exhaust and run the wire.

Had to get from the 3/16" barb on the blower manifold to the 1/8 hard tubing for the boost gauge. The boost gauge comes with a bunch of NPT to compression fitting adaptors, but I just bought these nice stainless NPT to tube fittings from McMaster. I think it was the simplest, cleanest way to do it. Plus I hate compression fittings. Push-to-connect tube fittings are fantastic.

Oil breather for the PCV system. I just realized I don't have pictures of the RevXtreme catch can I installed. Will add those later.

PCV catch can and plumbing. I'm not crazy about where it is, but it was easy to bolt the bracket to the bracket I made for the supercharger coolant reservoir. Plus the plumbing was pretty easy right here, plus the drain was in a good spot and the catch can is in a good spot. Function over form I guess. I just don't like clogging up the engine compartment. It was much cleaner without the blower and related accessories. Small price to pay I suppose.

Put the white face on the AFR gauge. Much better.

Driveshaft loop installed.

Just need to weld the wideband O2 sensor bung on the exhaust tomorrow and this baby is ready for the dyno!

Videos of?

There's a couple above of the first start with the blower. I'm hoping to get it tuned in the next couple of weeks, so I'll post a video of a dyno pull after that.

Wideband O2 sensor is installed.

I put a small notch in the hood bracing to clear the intake tubing. You can't see the detail in these pics, but it came out OK. Not perfect, but I'm happy with it. I only weld a few times a year. Sheet metal is a pain....even carefully "stitching", I blew a couple holes that I had to fill.

Just waiting for my tuner to call me back so I can schedule a dyno session and get this baby tuned!

Before.

After. (Just primed for now.) Will paint tonight.

Clearance After.

Quality work and awesome build. Your NA setup is nearly identical to the setup I'm getting together for my GTA. I'll be PMing you for some impressions on that cam.

Thank you. Your GTA is amazing....the wheels and stance are perfect. I love those cars. My close friend has a '90 Formula, 305 5spd. I'm trying to talk him into an LS swap, but he's got other priorities at the moment. Although his 305 runs strong with the stuff he's done to it. Low 14 second car (remember when that was fast?).

No problem on the cam. I love it. Perfect cam for good power with great driveability. The 118 LSA is awesome. But PM specific questions.

My friend noticed my PCV setup with the oil filler cap breather and pointed out that pulling unmetered air is probably a bad idea (and he was right) so I changed it to pull from the air intake tube. Not sure why I didn't realize that, guess I didn't fully understand the PCV until thinking about it for more than 10 seconds.

I put my fan shroud on too. Install is now completely finished and I'm just waiting to hear back from my tuner. He's awesome, but not always very responsive. Hopefully he'll call back soon. No rush, I probably have a month before the snow and salt is clear from the roads here in NH.

Finally hit the dyno tonight. 517 RWHP. Although that's pretty awesome, I can't say I'm not dissappointed with that number. The car, N/A, put down 420 HP, so to get less than 100 RWHP from 8.5psi on a 2.3L blower is not very impressive. Granted, weather was terrible for HP (29.1 barometer, 60% humidity), but I still thought it'd be closer to 550. But maybe my LS1 exhaust manifolds are choking the motor more than I thought. Maybe next winter I'll consider long tubes, even though I've always been dead set against them.

OK, onto the dyno graph and video! Always fun to be on the dyno....motorhead glory!

What was your intake air temp? Was it getting heat soaked?
